School Adventure
School
Each of our School Group Adventures is given a grade, taking into account the amount of walking involved, the difficulty of the terrain, the remoteness, the altitude and the overall length of the trip.
School grading
We have graded all of our School Group Adventures on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most challenging. To give you an idea of how we apply this system our most difficult school itineraries are the ascent of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and of Stok Kangri in India, both of which involve ascending high into altitudes of around 6000m where the air is much thinner than at sea level and physical activity becomes more arduous; these trips have been graded 9 on our scale. At the lower end of the grade scale are trips like Jordan's Dead Sea, Wadi Rum and Petra, which is not a strenuous trek in a remote area, but still includes some walking amongst the desert valleys and peaks of Wadi Rum; this trip has been graded 3 on our scale.
