Adventure Holidays - from Ski & Snowshoe to Safari & Photography
Our adventures are a selection of activities ranging from relatively leisurely touring holidays, Polar cruises and photographic holidays, to a number of rather tougher snowshoeing and ski touring holidays We have divided these adventure holidays into five sections: Winter Activity, Multi-Activity, Safari, Touring and Photography Each adventure is carefully tailored to make the most of the time spent in country. For the majority of these holidays all the activities are included so there are no hidden extras or need to bring along large amounts of local currency.
Our winter activities are all about having fun in the snow and the mountains during the winter months. These are not holidays based in busy ski resorts. Instead, we seek out the quiet snowshoe trails of Finland or the Pyrenees, go dog-sledging and snowmobiling in Scandinavia, take a ski tour hut-to-hut through Norway's Jotunheimen Mountains or explore a frozen world whilst crossing South Georgia on ski's with pulkas. If you like the snow, then we will have a holiday to suit you.
These holidays set out to show off the highlights of the regions they visit, whilst also including a mix of activities. We have multi-activity trips both in the summer and in the winter, with a range of exciting and sometimes adrenalin-fuelled sports and other elements. You can raft, rock climb, horse-ride, cycle, kayak or hike on these adventures abroad. So if you are looking for a holiday with a difference and want a new challenge each day, these multi-activity holidays might just be the adventure for you.
Our safari holidays take you up close and personal to wildlife. We travel in vehicles specially adapted for game viewing and wherever there is a wildlife viewing opportunity you will be able to benefit from the knowledge and experience of an expert guide. Many of our safari's include sightseeing of the surrounding areas as well and possibly a few days walking, for example can see tigers in India as well as the Taj and Temples, in Uganda we trek to see the Gorillas and in the Polar regions we experience Penguins and Polar bears.
Whereas most of our holidays include strenuous or relatively strenuous activities, such as trekking, climbing or biking, we also recognise that a more relaxed approach to the world's wild places can pay dividends. Touring trips include only a minimum of walking, whilst exploring and sightseeing in towns and at monuments, temples etc.. There is no sustained trekking or other taxing activities and the trips can be undertaken by anyone in good health.
KE has long experience of running Photo Special holidays, hosted by well-known photographers, such as Colin Prior. These trips are set up to include the best photo opportunities in the areas they visit, with the group benefitting from the expertise of the accompanying photographer. Past KE Photo Special holidays have included visits to Everest Basecamp and the festivals in Bhutan. Destinations vary each year and in length, from a long weekend workshop in Marrakech to a 2-week itinerary in Patagonia including a few days walking.
