It followed the amazing Karakoram Highway through the Hunza Valley and we still run a variant of this ride, 20 years on. Heading eastwards, the Himalayan regions of northern India, Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan provide more unmissable opportunities for adventure biking amongst some of the world’s most dramatic mountain scenery. KE pioneered all of the best bike routes here, including 2 contenders for the world’s highest bike journey: India’s Leh to Manali ride and the Lhasa to Kathmandu trip which links Tibet and Nepal. Each of these superb rides crosses breathless 5000 metre passes whilst effectively traversing the Himalayas. Another KE classic is the Across Bhutan ride which crosses a succession of road passes on an epic west to east journey through this ‘shangri la’ kingdom.
