At the southern tip of South America, lies Tierra del Fuego, a 150-mile long peninsula separated from the mainland by the Strait of Magellan. Ushuaia is commonly regarded as the southernmost city in the world. Here in the Andean-Patagonian forest between the glaciated valleys, rivers and lakes we spend time walking and enjoying boat trips on the Beagle Channel. It is home to the endangered black-browed albatross as well as seals, penguins and a rare otter called the chungungo! If you are looking for the complete exploration of Patagonia then these few days are a must-do.
This 4 day extension starts and ends in Ushuaia. We spend three nights in a comfortable hotel in Ushuaia and have day excursions from here. We include a full day hike to Mt Pelado for some fantastic views, a short 4 mile walk and a couple of zodiac rides on the Beagle Channel.
