A fantastic trip, well organized, appropriate accommodations, very adequate food, and of course all in an interesting part of the world. I most enjoyed overall planning, pacing, accommodations and of course the scenery and sights. My 8th KE trip and looking forward to a 9th!
Oman Adventure Trekking
By: Patrick Tehan, London
Excellent leadership, Rob is one of the most culturally sensitive leaders I have been with. His attention to detail was exceptional and his training of the local Omani staff is exemplary.
Jordan Highlights Tour
By: Rosemary Collier, West Sussex, UK
A brilliant introduction to the Middle East tempting me to return to Jordan. Nader Saleh and the driver Ziad were just fantastic, being very helpful, informative and friendly. Most enjoyed - The trekking and walking, the local information readily transmitted by the guide. The highlight being Wadi Rum and meeting the Bedouins, plus a 3day old camel!
Jordan Trekking Holiday - Wadi Rum and Petra
By: Peter Moore, London, UK
I rarely eulogise about anything, so it comes as shock to find myself searching for superlatives to describe how truly magnificent this journey was. Its organisation and its composition were faultless. Nevertheless I think the overriding influence on the tone of the trip and the reason why we found it so rewarding was the personal influence provided by the local agent and our guide, Tala Momani.
Walking Sicily and the Aeolian Islands
By: Peter Clague, Isle Of Man, UK
good hotels with friendly staff. Breakfasts fine, picnic lunches filling and
sustaining, evening meal venues excellent in choice and food.
Stunning volcanoes - Vulcano and especially Stromboli at night from close quarters.
Vesuvius, Pompei & the Amalfi Coast
By: Linda Romalin, United States
Michele and Giorgia were wonderful leaders. It was nice having 2 at least for part of the trip. Michele was amazing. The picnic lunches were delicious with so manay homemade (by Mama) and local delicacies. Michele showed us the real Italy and his love for his hometown of Agerola. He also shared all of his group photos of us...something no other leader has ever done.
I really enjoyed this trip. The group was small and very pleasant. The walks, especially on the Amalfi Coast were amazing with incredible scenery and vistas through woodland with spectacular waterfalls, along the sea and through villages into the quaint although sometimes a bit touristy towns. Michele really made the trip with his knowledge of his hometown of Agerola and the delicious picnic lunches he packed with homemade local delicacies and fruit and walnuts from his own trees.
K2 and Concordia

I emailed questions and requests for help getting the visa several times for this trip, which is not usual for me, so I appreciated all the help and patience of the office staff. Also as I felt a little uneasy about safety in Pakistan and the visa process etc is quite complicated, I took considerable comfort and reassurance in your experience and history in this area. Thanks for this.
Ade(our guide)is wonderful. Not only did he take great care of us but I felt I learnt alot from his advice on dealing with various situations.
I really enjoyed the views - they were brilliant, and I loved the feeling of remoteness with no further settlements after the starting point. I enjoyed the road trip up the KKH plus the free time in the afternoons to explore the area around the camp.
I chose KE because visiting Pakistan seemed a bit dodgy and you had lots of experience there. I also chose KE as on past trips the quality of the hotels, equipment and food have been slightly better than with other companies I've trekked with. KE provide western group leaders who being independent of the local teams safeguard the group's interests and also have training to take care of and teach us.
This was a really great trip. I thoroughly enjoyed it, thank you.
Dunes of the Sahara Traverse
By: Jean Nichol, Cumbria, UK
This was my first ever trekking experience and I have to admit having several concerns, all of which (well most of them!!) were allayed by KE's staff in their office at Keswick. They were right, I didn't need to worry at all. I had an amazing time! The scenery (for all it was desert) was quite varied. From small rolling dunes to flat stony (almost lunar landscape, to the magnificent high dunes that we climbed to the summit at New Year. The views from the top was sublime, miles and miles of Dunes rolling out in front of us, ever changing shades of light and dark as the sun set. Walking was not particularly difficult (6 - 7 hour days) but I did manage to get lots of blisters, in boots I'd worn many times before - take plenty of Compeeds! I think this was mainly due to the different movement of my foot whilst walking in sand! Mohammed and his team were great. Mohammed with his humour and knowledge and the others for assembling Camp at the end of the day and feeding us! The food was great. We particularly enjoyed the fresh salads at lunchtime, various tajines and the wonderfully sweet oranges. A ride on a camel completed my adventure in the desert although I have to admit it felt a bit like being led round a rather large beach on a rather large donkey! Still it had to be done especially as one of my 'fellow Trekkers' reminded Mohammed that I'd said I wanted to it at the beginning of the week (happy to oblige) Mohammed ensured my wish was granted! Marrakech is a place I need to go back to and explore properly. To my delight I discovered it wasn't the scary place I'd thought it would be, it was a fascinating kaleidoscope of colours/scents and sounds. My camera never stopped clicking! So 'yes' it was a wonderful experience, definitely to be repeated.
Everest the Hard Way Trek
By: Renee Laughlin, Texas, USA
This was an incredible trip. We had a great group, which I know is a blessing when you have this many strangers coming together to spend the next several weeks together! We became like family in many ways...looking out for each other, checking in on those you did not feel well, sharing precious kleenex and toilet paper! The cooks even baked and decorated a cake for a couple who exchanged wedding vows on the trip!
Morocco - Bougmez Valley Walking Week
By: Sharon Mceachen, Essex, UK
Very well informed prior to trip, nothing left out, everything covered.
Great holiday, good hotel in Marrakech. Pace of holiday was good for whole group. Beautiful and interesting valley, knowledgeable guide(s) who has a knack of making the group gell.
Can't fault the efficiency, transport was waiting at airport although flight was one hour late. Guide completely on the ball, seems to work his socks off but always cheerful and patient.
