Corsica Haute Route - Trek the Whole GR20
By: Brian Lee, Oldham, Gt Manchester
I particularly enjoyed the variety of terrain the trek covered. Also, the pace taken allowed us plenty of "free time" to relax and enjoy a drink at the end of each day. The trip was harder than expected, but within my capabilities. I had not expected such a consistency of rugged terrain to ascend and descend. The toilet facilities were very primitive, far more so than in the Alps but I realise this is outside KEs responsibilities. I had been on a previous trek with another company but the food was insufficient. A friend, who has been on several KE expeditions, said they were always well provisioned. When I found you did the GR20 I was hooked!
Around Manaslu Trek
By: Karen McCbe, Prestwick
An wonderful first trip to Nepal . Hopefully the first of many !I enjoyed Everything ..... except the high altitude headache !!!The trip was so much more than I had expected - in all kinds of ways. We couldn't have asked for a better leader. Ben's good humour and patience were outstanding.
Choquequirao to Machu Picchu Trek
By: Megan Bestbier, Norfolk, UK
Peditro is the best cook- if that's what he can do in a tent up a mountain who knows what he would do in a proper kitchen!! He is awesome.
The best holiday we have ever had!
Madeira Walking Week
By: Sarah Everitt, Lancashire, UK
Victor (our guide) was outstanding in every aspect of leadership. An excellent ambassador for KE at all times and the best possible representative Madeia could have! He really made this holiday such a memorable and wonderful time for us all. We greatly appreciated all his efforts and thank him sincerely.
I thoroughly enjoyed this holiday. It was my first adventure with KE and I will definately be looking forward to future trips and travel. I would recommend KE based on the excellent experience I have had.
The White Mountains of Crete
By: Chris Barton, NE Scotland
Trip leader did a great job, route was well planned and leader proved to be an enthusiastic source of knowledge with regard to plant, animal and bird life and local culture.
Overall this trip was one of the best organised and most rewarding trip I've been on (and I've been on many other trips including a previous KE trip).
Staying in small, family-run, hotels and using small family-run cafes and restaurants; they are so much nicer than modern 'chains'. I've stayed in UK 'chain operated' hotels and their equivalent in other countries and they tend to be souless and impersonal. The outfits used on this trip were in total contrast which is exactly how it should be.
Trekking to Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro
By: Daniel Fryer, Lancashire, UK
Fantastic trip with brilliant support from all the crew. Pace was prefect food was delicious. Peter (the guide) was fantastic, his advice and level of English was superb, we had a wide range of ages in our group and no-one had a bad word to say about the was he ran his crew as well as us. I think without his leadership not all 9 of us would have made the summits. The warmth you felt from the whole crew, made you feel very welcome.
Brilliant holiday that I would fully reccomend to friends and family.
Iceland - Trek the Land of Extremes
By: Sheila Stanger, Northumberland, UK
Most enjoyed - The paths the geology and the scenery. The challange at the end walking thru the snow between the glaciers and then alongside the waterfalls.
A friend recommended KE in 2004. I know that you do your best to look after and care for the clients needs.
Trekking across the High Atlas
By: Sharon Jackson, London, UK
Around every corner there was a completely different view... gorgeous scenery. And I loved getting to learn more about the Berber people. Hamid was an excellent guide. He is able to offer great practical support and is very diligent in ensuring everyone's needs are met. What a star!
Inca Trail and Beyond Trek
By: John Cook, Staffordshire,UK
In 2011 I went on the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek. The Inca Trail and Beyond Trek I found to be an even better experience. Up to the part where you enter the Machu Picchu park, the trek is over rugged landscape with incredible views. Trekking was more challenging than the Annapurna Sanctuary trip, trails in the park were stepped but often steep (Peruvian Flat!).
The food was better on my previous trek but this did not spoil the overall enjoyment.
Initially it seemed the part of the trek where we were not actually trekking seemed excessive but on reflection, it was useful to avoid altitude problems. And who could not enjoy the Fashion Show on the train to Cusco from Machu Picchu, train travel in the UK will never be the same! A fantastic experience that we will not forget! The KE staff were very helpful in planning the trip, the Amazon Rainforest extension and my additional flights
