Trekking Guatemalas Magnificent Seven

By: Jill Eaton-Evans, February 2010, Pembrokeshire

I enjoyed this holiday. It was strenuous at times and then there were lovely idle times like the morning at Lake Atilan. The group was good fun and always about doing things.

Costa Rica - Walks and Wildlife Adventure Holiday

By: Nan Pratt, Swindon, UK

I am thrilled with this holiday. It gave an excellent and varied introduction to Costa Rica. Wonderful!

The aspects I most enjoyed were: variety of locations from tropical rainforest to 'alpine' conditions, quality of our leader, different types of accommodation, including log cabins - particularly close to the forests / Pacific / the wild, meeting Ticos, especially those who are endeavouring to improve their lot with ecotourism off the beaten track, swimming in plunge pools, hot springs, the Pacific ocean (and hotel pools), walking through a wide range of ecosystems and landscapes, observing birds, mammals, sea-life, Gallo pinto! small group, sunsets.

Walter (our leader) was enthusiastic to show us as much as possible. His knowledge of wildlife and love of his country are exemplary. He appreciated our different needs and interests and tried effectively to engage us all.

There was even more diverse habitats than I expected. The level of walking was never too difficult - I feared it may have been. This was a superb experience. I loved every moment, even when I was physically stretched.

Best of the Tour du Mont Blanc Trek

By: Jackie Robertson, Aberdeenshire, Scotland

Alex was a fantastic leader taking into consideration the different levels and needs of the group and her knowledge of the surrounding area really added to our experience. I believe this was the first time that she has worked for KE. I would say hang on to her.

Most enjoyed - Group size, scenery, food, enthusiasm of the guide

The Salt Plains and Volcanoes of Bolivia

By: Mervyn Brooker, West Midlands

The variety of experience was exceptional, without losing the essential elements of trekking. Tunupa and the Salars are out of normal experience. Memorable and well beyond expectation.

Cannot speak too highly of the care attention and knowledge of the guides Juan and Ivan, they were the best I have come across on any trip - really made the holiday.

Classic Everest Basecamp Trek

By: Edward Carri, Llandudno, Wales

I spoke with several of the KE staff members prior to departure - all were jolly friendly and informative. Never had such good customer service. Well done!! Ravi Gurun our trip leader was amazing, could not have a better trip leader. I most enjoyed the camaraderie of the group. Ravi Gurun's excellent support, the scenery and the nepalise folk.

Trekking in Cappadocia and the High Taurus

By: Delythe Evans, Gwynedd, Wales

First met Sheriff on the Ararat trip, he is an excellent leader, has masses of knowledge about his country. A very interesting person.

The cook was fantastic, yummy food every day. First class

Iceland Three Peaks Challenge

By: Jane Marriott, Northampton UK

The country was fantastic and other members of the group great fun. Having the right guide is essential and on this trip we certainly had the right person. Agust was one of the best guides I have had, so knowledgeable, experienced and great fun. The trip was wonderful and better than what I'd expected.

High Tatras Trekking - The Carpathian Mountains

By: Christine Laidlow, Cumbria, UK

I have been travelling with KE for several years and on the whole I have found the trip leaders to be of a high standard. Peter was by far the best I have travelled with. He was superb, nothing was too much trouble, he was friendly and enthusiastic. He took account of all levels of fitness and encouraged all. I cannot praise him enough and could I please ask that my thanks are passed on to him.

Macedonia - Off The Beaten Track

By: Ros Green, Co.Kerry, Ireland

Holiday was just as I had hoped. We trekked to the summit of all the mountains. The flowers were sensational. One of the main reasons for choosing this holiday was to see Lake Ohrid and its magical town. I was not disappointed. A fascinating place to visit particularly its history and all its ancient sights.

Machu Picchu and the Salkantay Trail

By: Ian Roberts, England

Everything was great and it was a amusing when the driver made the sign of the cross before and after negotiating a difficult corner on the mountain pass.
