Walking Sicily and the Aeolian Islands
By: Keith O'Malley and Jonna Wegefelt, London, UK
This was a great trip. The variety and grade of the walks was well-planned; the accommodation was varied but always excellent. The logistics all worked out extremely well. We particularly appreciated the fact that we were provided with a boat trip to see the lava flow on Stromboli because the summit was closed, and even though we were able to walk up to 400m to view the lava flow from the land on the second day on Stromboli.
We most enjoyed the volcano walks where one could get close to some volcanic activity. All three were special in their own way (Vulcano, Stromboli and Etna). The trip exceeded our expectations, especially the Etna walk to the very top and around the rim of two of the central craters. Our guide Federica was top notch. She was great fun, extremely helpful, and very knowledgeable. She was flexible when appropriate, but clear and firm when arrangements had to be followed precisely.
We chose KE for this holiday because we have previously traveled with KE to Burma, and found the organisation and design of that trip to be excellent. We have also had several friends who have traveled with KE who have been consistently very positive about the company and the trips. We originally heard of KE many times through 'the traveler grapevine', and in the press.

All worked like clockwork, thanks to Ben and Mindu, the Sirdar. We couldn't have asked for a better leader in all respects, experienced, with a wealth of tales to tell and who made great efforts to include everybody in the group. Someone who I'm sure could be trusted to deal with any crisis. Fortunately our trip had none and the weather was extremely kind.
We'd recommend KE to anybody and others in our group had used KE several times before. We'll certainly be looking to use KE again, the only problem is, which trip? We had no health problems and loved the whole experience!
Shey Gompa and Inner Dolpo

Val was the best leader in Nepal, India and Pakistan I have ever had from KE or any trekking firm.
Makalu Basecamp Trek

Great trek in a quiet (few other trek teams) and stunning part of Nepal. Support of the trek crew and trip leader was excellent and the crew became good friends very quickly in the trip.

I had a great time. Everything was well-organised and our crew were brilliant. Rabi (our guide) was fantastic! I most enjoyed the varied scenery, the excellent Guide, the friendly porters and our after-trip activities - city tour / meals etc.
Croatia Coast and Islands
By: Graham & Irene Taggart, Isle of Man, UK
The holiday was everything we expected and more. The country is beautiful and the people very friendly. The scenery is stunning and the diversity makes it very interesting. The standard of accommodation was much better that we initially expected.
Trekking the Ridges and Summits of Bulgaria
By: Philip Hayes, Southampton, UK
The trek was actually better than I expected because of the scale and beauty of the mountains. Each day provided a completely different scene with views in all directions.
Ivo was an excellent trek leader with a good pace. Excellent english and clear in communication; he discussed options where neccessary but always decisive in his leading.
Julian Alps Lakes and Mountains
By: Sarah Christenson-Jones, Netherlands
This was my first KE trip and if this is the template for any of your other trips I would most certainly be interested in doing another with KE. Most enjoyed - The pace, flexibility and organisation.
Luxury Machu Picchu Trek
By: Edith Allan, Dundee, UK
This was true luxury trekking! After some longer days, it was a real treat to be greeted with hot towels and cocoa tea. (Not to mention outdoor hot tubs at three of the four lodges where we could observe the southern skies). The lodges were of a very high standard and fitted perfectly in the remote settings.
Our support team were most attentive and our cook prepared excellent meals both at the lodges and lunch stops. . The walking was on good trails with only one fairly long, day but being served a hot, three course lunch on the trail made it a lot easier. ( it was snowing on the high pass, but lunch was served under canvas which was most appreciated!)
Most enjoyed - Seeing Machu Picchu for the first time, from a vantage point few tourists see, was quite special!
