Trekking in Cappadocia and the High Taurus
By: Pete Gray, London
Şerafettin DİREK is a legend. He's a very knowledgeable and patient guy with a good positive attitude and a lively sense of humour. I have recommend him to family when they visit turkey. I'd be very happy to be guided by him in the future.
Most enjoyed - The climate, scenery and food! The tour of the cultural highlights at the end of the trip was brilliant. That was down to our guide,Şerafettin DİREK.
Exploring the Anti Atlas
By: Chris Anderson, Neuilly Sur Seine, France
Hamid (the guide) was perfect for us - patient, open to questions but not insisting on talking when we just wanted to enjoy Morocco quietly, competently and calmly addressing all minor issues, not pushing us to do tourist shopping. What I enjoyed the most - Hiking in varying terrain. Good, indigenous food. Not over-engineered to keep us amused/entertained. Polite, friendly staff.
Temples and Trails of Burma
By: Daryl Cutts, St Albans, UK
Hotel accommodation was a mixture of good and excellent. Staying in the monasteries during the trek was a fabulous experience. There was a bit too much food on offer ie breakfast, lunch and dinner, especially on those days when we weren't trekking - although I realise that this can be managed by eating small amounts, there seemed to be quite a bit of waste. I loved that we did so much in the time available - even the longer than expected trek days.
Nyi Nyi (our guide) was open in sharing his views on the political, social, economic and cultural situation in Myanmar and this was a positive part of the holiday for me. Practically he was very efficient and also looked for consensus among the group to make some decisions where appropriate and accepting if opting out.
I most enjoyed the trekking - partly because that's the kind of holiday I prefer anyway as it's more physically active than being transported from one place to the next - but also because it allowed the opportunity to appreciate landscapes particular to Burma, aspects of village life and to stay in monasteries. I loved the day on Lake Inle - partly because it meant being outside all day but also because of all the interest (local communities living on the lake etc).
Annapurna Circuit and the Thorung La
By: Mark Clinkscales, Coventry, UK
Information was provided efficiently every time we asked a question.Amazing support from the trek support team, who ensured well being at every opportunity. The local agent was efficient and heplful. Our trip Leader Rinji Sherwa was superb, it was his first trip as a Leader. He ensured our trip was a success,no doubt his subsequent trips will also be successful. A definite asset to the KE organisation.
Post going over ThorungLa, our group were exhausted. So at Makinath we chose to book a Jeep from Makinath to Jomsom, thus avoiding a 4 hr walk. From Jomsom we then walked onto Marpha. The intinery suggested a 6-8hr walk post going over the pass. Not sure this is feasible. Most other trekkers were having a day off after going over the pass.
Kilimanjaro Trek and Safari

The trek guides/porters were excellent. If I could recommend those guys for some sort of award, I would. The hygiene, care, attention, food quality were all excellent.
Jebel Sahro Walking Week
By: Stephania Scerri, Luxembourg
Hamid (our guide) was a great guide! He took good care of us throughout the holiday. He not only answered our questions about Moroccan traditions and culture but he also entertained us with jokes, songs and games throughout the camping evenings. Could not have wished for a better guide!
What I enjoyed most was dancing and singing berber songs with the locals on a particular night, having a picnic near Bab n'Ali while chatting between us and Hamid, meeting the locals and trekking through the beautiful scenary. Well, I enjoyed pretty much the whole trip from beginning till the very end. It was indeed a great holiday and I fully enjoyed myself. Jebel Sahro offers not only beautiful landscape but also a warm welcome by its people.
Peaks and Valleys of Jebel Sirwa
By: Mark Slee, Essex, UK
Good accommodation throughout the trip. Food also excellent and plentiful. I did try to loose weight but failed!!! Support crew really good, everything done well also very friendly. Very well paced trek no rush or pressure. Logistics worked well.
Mustapha was excellent, not only did he care for the group he also helped out the support crew who appreciated his help and this showed in their interactions with him and us, which made for a really pleasant trip. Mustapha was really approachable and knowlegdable. He was willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything went well.
I really enjoyed the holiday, it was well thought out, well lead. The walking pace was also good, not a route march so plenty of opportunity to take photo's and catch up
Singalila Ridge - One of India's Finest Treks
By: Rachel Hewitt, Poole, Dorset, UK
My first trip and it was amazing. It was colder than it should have been at this time of year and the clear October skies were lacking after 11.00am due to thick mist but actually that didn't spoil the experience. The views at 5.30am were fabulous! Our leader and support crew were excellent, the food - I have no idea how they managed to create such dishes in the middle of nowhere with such limited facilities, even to producing a cake! A wonderful experience.
Mera Peak Climb
By: Margaret Young, Scotland
We both loved the holiday. We both had a fantastic time and would love to go back to the area again - so many other places to see. Really enjoyed the countryside and the views whilst in the mountains. We thought the time for acclimatisation was better than other companies. We have travelled with you before (Ecuador in 2009) and felt you provided good service.
New Zealand - North to South
By: Tom Stenhouse, Cumbria, UK
Need to stress the importance of clean walking boots, as in no dirt at all. It means delays at customs in NZ. Otherwise all preliminaries were excellent.
This was a fantastic holiday, helped by continuous sunshine throughout the whole of the 3 weeks. The accommodation was of a very high standard.
The guides, Brent and Josh were excellent. Brent with his knowledge of natural history and Josh who was constantly aware of our groups needs. Their ability to manage a group and achieve harmony and flexibility in the itinerary, taking advantage of good weather and breaking up long journeys, with short and interesting walks, was excellent.
The itinerary was excellent with different levels of walks in terms of difficulty and duration. The people are friendly and always willing to help. The country was very clean with little rubbish or graffiti. The cost of meals and drinks were equivalent to this country.
I was overwhelmed with the scenery, very much like the Lake District, but bigger mountains, lakes and forests. The views and walks were stunning. An overall excellent experience.
