Jordan Dead-2-Red Training
By: Mark of Loxley, posted 16th November '12

Well there are not many weekends left to get some training in, but so far have managed to get out every weekend but 1 for the past 6 weeks. Somedays have been 50 miles, others 25-25 mile trips over a mixture of road, track and muddy path around the Lleyn Peninsula in North Wales, around Nottinghamshire and even a couple of days in 25 degree heat in Portugal. Last weekend was almost a disaster, a heavy climb from sea level to Tal-y-Fan at over 600m was cut short when my crank arm fell off half way around the hill. No suitable tools available meant a 7 mile push / coast home but with very soggy ground and mud the going was very heavy. The nail in the coffin was a puncture at Garreg Fawr which meant the 'easy' ride down the hill back to Llanfairfechan meant I had to carry the bike rather than just sit on the saddle. The bike had only been in for a service the week before so I was less than happy. A "Mr Angry" email resulted in a new bike offer ( I had only had the other one since August this year ), so am all set up for another weekends ride. Planning a circuit of the Holy Island, South Stack and Trearrdur Bay on Anglesey.
