Committed Hartlepool fan reaches top of Mount Kilimanjaro
A committed Hartlepool United fan has reached the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, after nearly 20,000 ft of climbing.
Pictured standing at the top brandishing his Pools scarf, Kev Turnbull conquered Africa's highest peak with a close friend, raising around £3,000 for the Alzheimer's Society in the process.
The dedicated football fan, 34, is considered a seasoned traveller but it was the first time he had attempted the challenge, which has helped spread awareness of a condition close to his heart.
He called the Alzheimer's Society a ‘great cause' and hopes upon handling the testing conditions that it will ‘give my family or anyone else affected a lift'.
