Battersea Women climb Swiss Alps for Charity
Sally Ede-Golightly and Amelia Jeffery are ready to run for 26 miles through the mountains to raise money for the British Skin Foundation. Both women have family that have suffered from skin cancer and they wanted to show their support by raising £1000 to donate to the charity.
The race is part of the annual Alpine Challenge which sees hikers and cyclists take on 4 sections of the Alps, and the section that the two women are doing will take them to heights of 1700 metres.
Although Amelia has experience as a cross-country runner, neither of the ladies has tried anything as adventurous as this before, but they are excited for the journey and are happy that they will both have encouragement from each other along the way.
The Swiss Alps are great for trekking and climbing, and if you are looking for mountain holidays take a look at our site for some great inspiration.
