Canadian Soldiers train to conquer Everest
The soldiers taking part are aiming to raise awareness and money for injured Canadian soldiers and their families, and all the soldiers who will be trekking in Nepal have been injured whilst serving, except for the team captain Raymond Joseph.
In total 15 soldiers will be completing the challenge in early October, first exploring the exciting mountainous regions of Nepal and acclimatising to the high altitudes before tackling the greatest challenge of their trek; scaling Mount Everest.
The charity adventure is being organised by the True Patriot Love Foundation who have stated that they wish to raise $2 million through this and other projects. Half of this will go towards mental health services and the other half towards rehabilitation and support for the injured soldiers and their families, a great challenge for a good cause.
