Cape Town beach to hold surfing world record attempt
The sublime beaches around Cape Town in South Africa have developed a formidable reputation in recent years, offering some of the finest surf to be found anywhere in the world. This is set to be put to the test next month as the region's Muizenburg Beach attempts to break the world record for the most surfers riding the same wave.
Muizenburg already has its place in the famed Guinness Book of Records, holding the current record after 100 surfers took to the same wave at Surfers Corner back in 2009.
Taking place on the 29 and 30 September, hopefully hundreds of surfers will turn up for the attempt to be a part of history, whilst also hoping for perfect conditions to generate monster waves to make it easier to complete the feat.
