Teacher with Damaged Spine climbs Kilimanjaro
Nicole Issitt was horse riding with friends in Wales when she fell and fractured her spine. Doctors warned her that she could face the rest of her life in a wheelchair, but luckily her condition improved with the aid of a spinal support brace.
After years of physiotherapy and pilates, Nicole is back to living life to the full, and although her back occasionally feels painful she has been training to climb Kilimanjaro since November.
She is hoping to raise money for Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance who airlifted her to hospital. The accident has changed her life in other ways; Nicole says that she was never a sporty person but she now feels more adventurous and that she is capable of more than she first thought.
There is nothing like conquering a mountain for a thrilling adventure, and we have plenty of mountain holidays available for you to pit yourself against.
