Adventure Tourism in India is next Big Thing
Our quest for adventure is being reflected in official figures, with adventure travel accounting for a fifth of global tourism numbers in 2009, and the sector is currently worth $142 billion globally.
India in particular is seeing a substantial increase in adventure tourism, with domestic adventure travel operators seeing annual growths of up to 400%. This growth is being attributed to global trends of interest in holidays that promise exciting experiences full of thrills and spills.
It is unsurprising to see such a rapid increase of interest in India when you look at what the country has to offer as an adventure travel destination; the Himalayas, the Taj Mahal, delicious food and Bollywood dancing are just some of the things that make India one of the hottest destinations on the planet right now for a holiday adventure.
