Happy couple mark wedding with abseil
A newly-married couple from Powys in Wales have marked their special day in unusual style - by abseiling down a 55ft climbing wall.
Alan Evans and Katie Owen, aged 34 and 33, went straight from their wedding ceremony at Albrighton Hall just outside Shrewsbury to the Adventure Rope Course on the grounds of the same hotel, where they successfully lowered themselves to the ground, all the while dressed in their morning suit and wedding dress!
The adventure travel fans explained how they both loved climbing and thought that celebrating becoming man and wife by doing one of the hobbies that brought them together would be a great idea.
Talking about their day, Katie said that she and Alan were left buzzing from both the service and the abseil, and that they made the most of their time at the Rope Course, taking part in a number of the other activities on offer.
