Lands End to John O'Groats
KE Sales Manager Ben Walker recently completed John O'Groats to Lands End by bicycle, clocking up an impressive 1060miles. Averaging 75 miles a day he did a self-supported trip traversing the length of the country; 'End to End' in 14 days. Starting in Scotland under the false hope all must be down-hill from there and the possibility of having North-Easterly winds assisting him south; he was fortunately blessed with 11 days of sunshine and only 3 wet days. The toughest sections were getting to Fort Augustus and a gruelling 90 mile day crossing Dartmoor.
By co-incidence two KE clients Lorna & Shona Cunningham also completed Lands End to John O'Groats at the same time. The sisters completed their ride in a similar time frame and had a lucky escape, when a car clipped one of Lorna's panniers. Thankfully despite knocking her off and narrowly avoiding serious injury, she managed to get her bike straightened out in Kendal and complete the rest of their ride to John O'Groats.
Congratulations to all three riders, that's a huge effort!
Lorna & Shona are in training for our 'Out of Africa' biking trip this autumn. A spectacular mountain biking ride from Kilimanjaro to the Ngorongoro Crater, camping under the big African sky!
