Great response to flood appeal
In our last enews we highlighted the problems caused by floods in Ladakh and Baltistan and already we have raised over £7000, which has been split between the two areas and sent out last week. In India they have decided it is too late to start rebuilding houses with winter setting in and so all the displaced locals have been housed with host families at the cost of around Rs75- per person per day for food and especially fuel. The money donated so far will feed and give shelter for 50 people for 4 months. In Pakistan the inhabitants of Talis cannot leave their village so the money donated here has purchased tents and winter clothing, to help them survive winter before they can start rebuilding in spring. Your money is already at work providing the most basic requirements but they still require more. Just donating £1 would feed a give shelter to one person per day.
