Made from 7001 aluminium alloy, the Fizan COMPACT trekking pole is the lightest 3-part pole available. The joints don't have ferrules as the joint mechanism is enclosed within the shaft, saving weight. They are so compact and light that you hardly notice them packed into your day sack on a trek but are strong enough to help whenever the going gets tough!

History

Mr Fincati Domenico founded Fizan in 1947, a man of vision, he was first to produce ski poles in aluminum when steel and bamboo were the normal materials used, the rest as they say is history. Over the following years, continual investment in technology, resear ch and development has helped Fizan become a world leader within the ski and trekking pole market. Passion for quality and design has kept the company fi rmly rooted to their origins in Veneto (one hour from Venice). Over the last 10 years, this passion, heritage and innovation has been lead by nephew Andrea Zaltron.
Made in Italy
For economic reasons, many companies have found it necessary to move production away from Europe and towards Asia, Fizan has always wished to stay faithful to their origins, their employees and the en vironment, and therefore continue to with " Made in Italy" production. Through this decision to produce in Italy, Fizan can control the daily and guarantee, the quality and stan dard of the products, delivery and service.
Environment and Health Care
FIZAN has always been respectful of the environment and use only recyclable materials. To further this commitment, they have invested in and use a photovoltaic system for the production of alternative energy (about 50 kw of power). This gives FIZAN around 60% of its power needs, avoiding the annual emission into the atmosphere of around 35.000 kg of CO2. FIZAN also assures that all its "Made in Italy" production complies with all European rules concerning the forbid den use of dangerous chemical ingredients within the production process.
Tubes
In both Trekking and Nordic walking poles, the aluminium tube is at the heart of the product. For this reason FIZAN uses only highest quality, strongest and most durable materials. The 3 aluminium alloys used (7001-7075-6013) are all tempered and supplied by certificated suppliers.
Flexy Locking System (patented)
The inner locking system gives a variety of benefits to the user; safe and durable, lighter and more balanced during use while avoiding unpleasant and dangerous contacts that an external locking system could represents. All telescopic poles produced by FIZAN use the tested FLEXY system. The aluminium pin is lightweight and the expander, made in Delrin (by Dupont), assures a safe and constant tightness during use and requires a minimal amount of strength to lock. Once closed, the holding force is very strong, reaching more than 100kg.
