General Trekking Checklist
The following basic checklist should help you with your packing for any of our trekking trips. Please remember this is just a checklist and you do not necessarily need to bring everything that is listed below. Use your own experience and judgment to make your decision. Please note that this list is appropriate to a trek at relatively high altitude, with night-time temperatures of a little below freezing. For low level trips, with warm nights, it would be normal to take a lighter sleeping bag and less warm clothing.

Torso
- Thermal baselayer shirts
- Casual shirt and / or T-shirts
- Fleece jacket or warm jumper / sweater
- Waterproof jacket
- Warm jacket (down)
Head
- Sunhat or cap
- Warm hat
- Scarf or neck buff
- Eyewear - Sunglasses
Hands
- Thermal gloves
- Warm and waterproof over gloves or mittens
Other
- Daypack - approx. 30 litres / 1800 cu in.
- Headtorch / headlamp with spare bulb and batteries
- Basic First Aid Kit - refer to trip dossier for details
- Sun protection (including total bloc for lips, nose etc.)
- Water bottles 1 litre (1 quart) x 2
- Selection of dry bags (to keep trek bag contents dry)
- 4 or 5 season sleeping bag
- Sleeping bag liner
- Thermarest or similar sleeping mat
- Washbag and toiletries
- Nailbrush
- Antibacterial handwash
- Towel (small)
- Swimwear
- Travel clothes
- Telescopic trekking poles
- Insect repellant – (75 – 100% DEET)
- Camera, film, batteries
- Penknife (remember to pack sharp objects in hold baggage)
- Small padlock (to lock trek bag)
