Adventure Travel Product Manager
We are currently seeking a well travelled, motivated and enthusiastic person to join our busy product management team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about adventure travel and the outdoors. Our office is based in the small town of Keswick which is located in the heart of the Lake District National Park. A recent move to spacious new and modern office space has necessitated expansion of our team of staff.
As part of our product management team you will be responsible for creating new adventure holidays for our extensive programme and continually monitoring and improving our existing product range. You will work closely with our ground operators' abroad building on relationships which we have had for decades in many cases and some that are very recent. Dependent on past experience, after an initial period you will be given various geographical areas to look after. There will also be a close working relationship alongside our operations, sales and marketing teams, with challenging targets to meet.
- Developing and implementing the launch of new holiday programs
- Research of new programs
- Negotiating prices with ground operators
- Writing sales literature
- Finalising contracts
- Ongoing quality management of existing programs
- Liaising and briefing operations, sales and marketing teams
- Building relationships with our ground operators
- Keeping in touch with market trends and competition
- Excellent communication skills

- Previous travel industry experience is essential.

Hours: A normal working week is 9 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Thursday, 9 am to 5.00 pm Friday, with half an hour off for lunch, 39.5 hours over 5 days per week.
Salary: Circa £25,000 starting salary, dependent on experience plus bonus.

Whinlatter Forest Trails - perfect for keen mountain bikers - is just up the road and the local fell road passes are a challenge for any adventurous road cyclist. The west coast mainline stops at nearby Penrith making London only a 3 hour journey by train.
Our friendly office team of around 25 staff are widely travelled, but love the Lake District life. With views of Skiddaw and the Borrowdale Valley from our office, we are ideally placed for those who want to work in the dynamic work of adventure travel but also enjoy an outdoorsy, healthy life. All KE staff travel with our groups - we know we are only as good as the travel experience we have ourselves.
