Mount Toubkal Walking and Trekking holidays

One Week Toubkal

This version of the classic trek around Toubkal starts out from Oukaimeden and crosses the Tizi n'Likemt to reach the Berber village of Amsouzart on the south side of the mountain. Then, trekking north via Lake Ifni, we cross the Tizi n'Ouanoums to the reach the Neltner Refuge, On our fifth and final day of trekking, we climb Toubkal and hike out to Imlil to complete the circuit. After a shorter first day, this holiday has 3 long days of trekking, averaging 8 hours of walking per day, followed by an even longer final day. If you are fit and up for a challenge, and looking to tackle Toubkal in just a week, then our One-Week Toubkal trek could be for you.

Mount Toubkal Circuit Trek and Climb holidayToubkal Circuit and Climb

This was one of our very first Moroccan adventures, way back in 2002 - and, it's as good now as it was then! Our full week of trekking begins with an acclimatization hike from our pleasant gite accommodation near Imlil. Then, accompanied by an expert, English-speaking Berber guide and a first-rate trek crew, we complete a classic circuit through the highest part of the Atlas Mountains, culminating in the ascent of Toubkal. Easier paced than One-Week Toubkal and with 2 nights in Marrakech, the Toubkal Circuit and Climb promises the very best of Morocco.

Climb four 4000 metre Peaks in the Toubkal MassifFour 4000 Metre Peaks of Toubkal

This is our sixth year of running this amazing trekking holiday that approaches Toubkal from the north-east, tracing a route through the Zat, Ourika and Tinzart valleys to finally link up with the Toubkal circuit after a week of off-the-beaten-track exploration. En route, we ascend the little-known 4000 metre peaks of Adrar n'Dern and Bouguinoussen, as well as Toubkal and Ouanoukrim. Quiet trails, great views and isolated Berber villages are just some of the highlights of our Four 4000 Metre Peaks of Toubkal adventure.

Winter ascent of Mount ToubkalToubkal in Winter

From November to April, the snow-covered peaks of the High Atlas present a very different trekking environment to that which is found at other times of the year. During this season, Toubkal and its near neighbour, Ouanoukrim, provide an irresistible challenge to winter hikers, requiring the use of crampons and a single ice-axe. Fully guided, our week-long Toubkal in Winter holiday is suitable for those with and without previous winter mountaineering experience and offers you the chance to experience the Atlas Mountains at their best.

Climb Mount Toubkal in a weekendToubkal Weekend

For those of you who are short on time, but long on ambition, the Toubkal Weekend promises the ultimate Moroccan short break. When you get back to the office and your co-workers ask ‘done anything interesting this weekend?' you'll be in the enviable position of being able to reply - ‘yes, I climbed North Africa's highest peak. How about you?' Just a short drive from Marrakech, Toubkal is very accessible and this allows us to shoehorn this amazing adventure into just 4 days.

Walking through Berber Village of ToubkalVillages of Toubkal

This is the only one of our ‘Toubkal' holidays that doesn't actually offer the chance to reach the mountain's summit. Instead, it offers a leisurely 5-day hike through the foothills on the western side of Toubkal, starting out in Taghbert and ending up in Imlil. Our route takes us across scenic 2000 metre ridges and by way of charming Berber villages, with their terraced fields and shading walnut trees. Walking for 5 or 6 hours a day on village trails, the Villages of Toubkal holiday promises the perfect introduction to Moroccan trekking.
