Mount Toubkal Walking and Trekking holidays

One Week Toubkal

An original classic trek and still a KE Toubkal best seller which covers all the highlights of this superb route. We start from Oukaimeden before crossing the Tizi n'Likemt Pass to reach the Berber village of Amsouzart on the south side of the mountain. Then, trekking north via the spectacular Lake Ifni, we cross the Tizi n'Ouanoums to the reach the famed Neltner Refuge - Toubkal Base Camp, On our fifth and final day of trekking, we climb Toubkal and hike out to Imlil to complete the circuit. After a shorter first day, this holiday has 3 long days of trekking, averaging 8 hours of walking per day, followed by an even longer final day. If you are fit, up for a challenge and looking to tackle Toubkal in just a week, then our One-Week Toubkal trek could be for you.

Mount Toubkal Circuit Trek and Climb holidayToubkal Circuit and Climb

This was one of our very first Moroccan adventures, way back in 2002 - and, it's as good now as it was then! Easier paced than One-Week Toubkal and with 2 nights in Marrakech this eleven day adventure includes a full week of trekking, begining with an acclimatization hike from our pleasant gite accommodation near Imlil. Then, accompanied by an expert, English-speaking Berber guide and a first-rate trek crew, we complete a classic circuit through the highest part of the Atlas Mountains, culminating in the ascent of Toubkal. We've included a sightseeing tour of magical Marrakech to kick start this fantastic trip, ensuring the Toubkal Circuit and Climb promises the very best of Morocco.

Climb four 4000 metre Peaks in the Toubkal MassifFour 4000 Metre Peaks of Toubkal

For eight years we've been running this amazing trekking holiday with 10 nights of fantastic camping and the chance to summit the little-known 4000 metre peaks of Adrar n'Dern and Bouguinoussen, as well as Toubkal and Ouanoukrim. We approach Toubkal from the north-east, tracing a route through the Zat, Ourika and Tinzart valleys to finally link up with the Toubkal circuit after a week of off-the-beaten-track exploration. This two week trekking adventure seeks out quieter trails, great views, isolated Berber villages and a sight-seeing tour of Marrakech ensuring we include all the highlights on our Four 4000 Metre Peaks of Toubkal adventure.

Winter ascent of Mount ToubkalToubkal in Winter

This spectacular winter ascent continues to be our best selling winter holiday and one of our all time best selling trips year after year! From November to April, the snow-covered peaks of the High Atlas present a very different trekking environment to that which is found at other times of the year. During this season, Toubkal and its near neighbour, Ouanoukrim, provide an irresistible challenge to winter hikers, requiring the use of crampons and a single ice-axe. Fully guided, our week-long Toubkal in Winter holiday is suitable for those with and without previous winter mountaineering experience and offers you the chance to experience the Atlas Mountains at their best.

Walking through Berber Village of ToubkalVillages of Toubkal

This is a Moroccan trek with a real difference, offering a leisurely 5-day hike through the foothills and villages on the western side of Toubkal and the perfect trek for anyone looking for their first Moroccan adventure at a lower altitude. Starting out in Taghbert and ending up in Imlil our route takes us across scenic 2000 metre ridges and by way of charming Berber villages, terraced fields, walnut groves, waterfalls and orchards. Walking for 5 or 6 hours a day on village trails and staying in welcoming gites, the Villages of Toubkal holiday promises the perfect introduction to Moroccan trekking all rounded off with a sight seeing tour and time to enjoy Marrakech.

Summit of ToubkalTrekking across the High Atlas

The ultimate Moroccan mountain adventure and described as one of the most spectacular walks in the world, an awesome 22 day mountain traverse that includes so many highlights, it's impossible to list them! A classic KE grade 8, this journey not only includes the summits of Mgoun (4068 metres), Anghomar (3608m) and Jebel Toubkal (4167m), but by visiting uninhabited valleys we get to camp in the most scenic camping spots, ensuring a true off the beaten track trekking experience. We finish this mountain high with a full day in Marrakech allowing plenty of time to soak up the atmosphere of this magical city, the perfect end to an unforgettable Trekking Across the High Atlas

Mount Mgoun, Toubkal and Essaouira

Combining two of Morocco's most striking peaks - Mgoun and Toubkal, plus the spectacular Atlantic Coast, this two week trek offers the perfect adventure for anyone looking for something that little bit special. We team Toubkal with Mt Mgoun, a beautiful and remote peak that offers a real `off the beaten track` trekking, experience like no other in Morocco. Mgoun, the third highest peak in Morocco is our warm up peak before heading to the Toubkal Valley and Mt Toubkal itself. We round off this mountain high with 3 days of spectacular Atlantic Coastal hiking and some relaxation time in the pretty UNESCO coastal town of Essaouria. If you're looking to conquor two fantastic peaks, hike along the Atlantic Coast and enjoy some `chill-out` time in a pretty coastal town, then our Mgoun, Toubkal and Essaouira trip ticks all those boxes.

Trekking Mount Toubkal and Essaouira

What better way to spend a week in Morocco then trekking to the top of North Africa's highest mountain followed by some stunning Atlantic coastal hiking. After our success of running treks to Toubkal and Morocco for many years it seemed a match made in heaven to team the summit of the highest peak with the most stunning part of its coastline and the beautiful town of Essaouria. Our tried and tested three day trek allows time for acclimatisation and an attempt on the summit before we driving to the Moroccan coast where we will enjoy some relaxed hiking next to the sea. If your walking passion is high mountains, pretty towns and sea views, this 8 day Trekking Mount Toubkal and Essaouira adventure ticks all the boxes.

Family Toubkal holidayFamily Toubkal Ascent

This classic trek can also be done with the children who are above 10 yrs as we recognise that enthusiastic and energetic families can tackle the summit. It follows the simplest route up and down from Toubkal. Starting from are cosy base in Ait Souka we have a day walk to the Tizi n' Tamatert before heading up to the base of Toubkal where we camp at the Neltner Refuge. From here, we ascend Toubkal and return to camp. We finish our week with the walk back to Ait Souka where we stay before travelling back to Marrakech for a final night. As this is a Family Toubkal adventure holiday , the emphasis will be on making the most of the experience and, if the summit of Toubkal proves to be too difficult an objective, the itinerary can be amended to allow for further exploration.
