Hilltribes, elephants, temples, trekking, rafting and that perfect beach. A walking holiday in Thailand makes for an exciting and colourful adventure holiday.
Thailand is deservedly a very popular holiday destination. There is much more however, to this charming Kingdom in South East Asia than palm-fringed beaches and smiling, welcoming people. In the North of Thailand, the city of Chiang Mai provides the perfect gateway to trekking in lush jungle, visiting welcoming hill tribes in the area, riding on elephant-back.
Following the ‘Sky Road’ west towards the Burmese border, the lesser-known area of Um Phang offers jungle-clad crags, multi-tiered waterfalls and rafting between the isolated villages of the Karen people. Two nights at a laid-back bungalow resort on the stunning beach of Ao Nang, close to Krabi, is a fitting way to conclude this veritable Thai spectacular!
