Providing the only practical route to the north side of the Himalayas, it is Tibet's proximity to the world's greatest mountain range, which accounts for much of its appeal. We make sure that each of our Tibetan trips pays homage to these peaks (Everest,
Kailas, Kangchenjunga, Chomo Lonzo and Makalu) whether up close or from a distance. Tibet is also special on account of its friendly people, rich history and colourful Buddhist religion. With its magnificent monasteries and ubiquitous red-robed monks, Buddhism is an unmissable theme from the smallest village to the capital city of Lhasa.
Mount Kailas, is considered a sacred place for four different religions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Bön. It is also the source of some of the longest rivers in Asia including the Indus, the Sultej - a tributary of the Ganges, and the Brahmaputra.
It is the only significant mountain peak never to be climbed by man as deference to Buddhist and Hindu beliefs. Every year, thousands of pilgrims follow the age-old tradition of walking around Mount Kailas, to bring good fortune.
KE Adventure Travel has been running trips to Tibet for over 20 years. With the very best views of Everest, the "Roof of the World" Tibetan Plateau and Lhasa's Potala Palace to name but a few, travelling to this fascinating, far-flung territory with KE is bound to be a memorable experience.
