Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel in Marrakech. Complimentary airport transfers are provided for clients arriving on this day. KE group package services begin with the evening meal. Hotel.
Day 2: Drive across the atlas to Ouarzazate and then through the Draa Valley to N'Kob village on the fringes of the Sahara where we overnight in a local Kasbah.
Day 3: Trek into the foothills of the Jebel Sahro, through farms and villages in the Hanedour Valley. We camp 30 minutes outside of the village of Tiguiza (1210m/3970ft).
Day 4: Today we trek out of the valley and cross to the village of Tagra. Camp (1400m/4593ft). This is our base for the optional ascent of Jebel Amlal.
Day 5: Optional ascent of Jebel Amlal (c.2450m/8038ft.). Excellent views of the Atlas to the North and West and the Sahara to the South. Return to Camp.
Day 6: Trek to the high plateau of Tadaout 'n Tablah and via Bab n'Ali (reminiscent to Monument Valley) to Akebash. One of the best day's walking in Morocco. Camp (1400m/4595ft).
Day 7: Today's easy level walk takes us from the desert-like environment to a mountainous area of craggy peaks. Camp on a plateau just beyond Taoulauat (1400m/4595ft.).
Day 8: Another short day heading towards the Bou Gafer group of summits. Camp at Tadawt Tazgart (1900m/62334ft). Afternoon hike up one or two of the small summits above camp.
Day 9: A longer day as we climb up from camp to cross a high pass. We continue across a couple of high ridges, via an old French fort to the foot of Bou Gafer. Camp (1700m/5577ft.).
Day 10: Option to trek to summit of Bou Gafer (1978m/6490ft.) and then descend from camp following a stream through green valleys and deep gorges to village of Oulili. Camp.
Day 11: A short day we climb out of the the Oulili Valley and heading westwards we establish camp near the settlement of Tanemlalt at an altitude of 2050m/6726ft.
Day 12: Option to climb Amalou n Mansour (2712m/8898ft), the biggest peak in the Jebel Sahro range. Trek to roadhead and drive to Kasbah Tizzarouine where we stay overnight.
Day 13: Early start for the drive back across the Atlas to Marrakech. Late afternoon / evening to check out the remarkable central square of the Djemaa-el-Fna. Group Hotel.
Day 14: Morning sightseeing around the Djemaa-el-Fna and souks, with english speaking guide. The rest of the day is free. Group Hotel.
Day 15: KE group package services end after breakfast. Complimentary airport transfers are provided for clients departing this day.
