This delightful holiday allows us to explore some of Egypt's best-known archaeological treasures, located along a historic stretch of the River Nile to the south of our point of arrival at Luxor. Sailing downstream from Aswan to Luxor in traditional feluccas provides a relaxing and authentic way to experience the magic of the Nile. There is lots of time to get to know our Egyptian and Nubian team and to marvel at the way of life of the local people. Taking every opportunity to go ashore to do some hiking, we will visit colourful Nubian villages, stroll amongst groves of date palms and explore monuments dating from the time of the Pharaohs. Combining day-hiking and a felucca trip, with plenty of opportunity for sightseeing amongst ancient temples and tombs, this is the perfect holiday for a first-time visit to Egypt.
Trip Guide
This EASY trekking and sightseeing holiday will include 2 or 3 short day-hikes on the banks of the Nile. The longest of these walks will not exceed 4 hours in duration and will be on good tracks and village footpaths. Additionally, the holiday will involve a fair amount of active sightseeing at a number of the most important Egyptian monuments with a good amount of walking. With plenty of time for relaxation, this is one of our easiest adventure holidays.
