Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel in Delhi. Complimentary Delhi Airport transfers are provided. KE group package services begin with overnight at the group hotel.
Day 2: We have a sightseeing tour by coach of Old Delhi and New Delhi. In the evening, we transfer to the railway station to catch the overnight train to Kathgodam.
Day 3: Arriving at Kathgodam, we drive through impressively scenic country to our overnight stop at the Khali Estate Resort. Afternoon warm-up hike along the ridge.
Day 4: After breakfast, we drive to the roadhead at the village of Song. Here, we meet our trek crew and trek alongside the Saryu River to our camp at the village of Supi.
Day 5: Our route today follows a path which zig zags up the steep mountainside, before contouring high above the river, through several small farming hamlets, to a camp at Mikila.
Day 6: Today, we climb steeply through forest and grazing meadows, with views of Nanda Devi. We then descend to an idyllic campsite in a clearing known as Raj Kharka (2520m / 8268ft).
Day 7: From the camp, we descend some 900 metres (3000 feet) to the Ram Ganga and the village of Gogina. Crossing the river to its east bank, we climb to our camp close to Namik (2100m / 6890ft).
Day 8: Today, we follow an ancient trail with sections of stone steps which climbs through beautiful forest and offers superb views of Nanda Kot (6860m / 22,500ft). We camp near a hut on the ridge.
Day 9: A long day-hike on the ridge, involving a 700 metre (2300 foot) climb to a viewpoint for the Panch Chuli peaks. Our high point is at the Sudam Khal Pass (3950m / 12,960). Return to our previous camp.
Day 10: After a leisurely breakfast we descend, then climb to a pass above Namik, before dropping down to a campsite in the forest at 3030 metres (9940 feet).
Day 11: The trail drops down through forest to the Junga River, then climbs again to a pass at 3450 metres (11,319 feet), with more great views of Panch Chuli. We then descend to camp.
Day 12: Today, we descend and contour across the hillside to Munsiari. This is a very pleasant walk with ever-changing panoramas. We overnight at the Munsiari Guesthouse.
Day 13: We say goodbye to our trek crew and begin the long drive out to Kathgodam. Excellent views of Nanda Devi and other peaks en route to our guesthouse near Almora.
Day 14: We continue the spectacular drive out to Kathgodam, where we have dinner before boarding the overnight sleeper train back to Delhi.
Day 15: Arriving in Delhi in the early morning, we transfer to our hotel and have the afternoon free for sightseeing. After dinner we transfer to the airport where KE group package services end.
