Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Rendezvous at our chalet accommodation in Argentiere, near Chamonix, where we will meet our guide. KE group package services begin with the evening meal.
Day 2: We start out with a ride up the valley to La Tour, where we use the cable car up to the Col du Balme (2191m). After a short climb, we enjoy a superb descent via Trient and the Col du Forclaz to Martigny (626m), before a steep road climb to Champex Lac (1466m). We descend into the Val Ferret and climb to La Fouly on a very pretty path.
Day 3: Following a quiet small road a very challenging path we climb the Col Ferret (2537m) where we have great views of Mont Blanc. We then descend via a lunch stop at the Elena Refuge to the Italian town of Courmayeur (1224m).
Day 4: Leaving Courmayeur, we climb through Val Veny, past the Elizabetta Refuge to the Col de la Seigne (2516m). We can then enjoy a great singletrack descent to La Ville des Glaciers and then a wider track and tarmac down to our gite in Les Chapieux (1549m).
Day 5: From Les Chapieux, we climb on jeep track and then on the road to the Cormet du Roselend (1967m). We then descend to the Lac du Roselend and climb again to the Col de la Gitte (2359m), before heading downhill, mostly on singletrack, to the hamlet of Les Contamines (1167m).
Day 6: Climbing via Le Champel to the Col de Voza (1653m), we have great views of the broad valley of the River Arve, before heading south and dropping down to les Houches (993m). We return to Chamonix on the road and then ride the Petit Balcon Nord back to our chalet in Argentiere.
Day 7: Today is a freeride day and this allows us to enjoy the excellent trails of the 'Domaine de Balme' and to also try out the new downhill course in Vallorcine, close to the Swiss border. A day pass is needed for the cable car uplift and this must be paid for directly. Overnight in Argentiere, with a celebratory final group meal.
Day 8: KE group package services end after breakfast.
