Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel. Complimentary airport transfers are provided. KE group package services begin with the evening meal.
Day 2: Drive to the Masai Mara crossing the Rift Valley enroute - overnight in the Reserve to enjoy the migration. Over a million Wildebeest migrating in from the Serengeti.
Day 3: A day for wildlife viewing in the Masai Mara, using our camp as a base to slowly explore the area.
Day 4: Wildlife viewing in the Masai Mara.
Day 5: Drive to the Loita Hills up winding bush trails to Near Entesekera. Camp in the high hills around the marsh in the Lemengishio Forest (forest of the lost child). Meet our Masai guides and donkeys.
Day 6: A day to explore the High Loitas - great ridge walking between grassy ridges and dense forest. The chance to see Colobus monkeys and Hartlub's Turacos.
Day 7: A full day's walk to Tiananagen through the hills. We make camp on old granite rocks - with endemic Cyciads and great panoramic views.
Day 8: Walk to the edge of the Rift Valley escarpment at Enkare Naibor, passing the site of a WWI skirmish between the English and an attacking German force. Overnight camp on the valley rim.
Day 9: An early start for descent from the escarpment (3000ft/900m) following a Sonjo/Masai cattle trail to the base of the Rift Valley. Camp on the banks of the Pakasi river. Time to enjoy a welcome swim!
Day 10: Driving out through the Great Rift Valley, past the soda lake of Magadi to Nairobi. Depending on flight schedules we will have use of a day room at the hotel. Complimentary transfer to the airport.
