The trekking was fantastic. A little bit quick paced for me on one or two days, however it was my first time at altitude and my first trek. People are amazing considering what the country has been through. Scenery is fantastic, had lots of comments already on photos taken. Overall - trip leader, trek guide, trek cook and trek crew were excellent. I will definitely be using KE again and am indeed already looking through the brochure.

The Ethiopian trek leader, Getent Akalu, was fantastic. His knowledge of the Simien National Park was encyclopaedic and he had a wonderful enthusiasm for the flora and fauna, such that we saw and enjoyed all but one of the indigenous animals and birds. His pacing of the climbing and walking was perfect and he controlled his trekking staff firmly and with sensitivity. Together with Adrian the trek leader he made for a perfect trek.

Fabulous trek in awesome Simien Mountains with unrivalled scenery and wildlife. No other groups in the area, very peaceful & amazing views. Great locals living as they have done for generations, untouched by technology or the internet age. Knowledgeable local guides. Gondar & Lalibela a bonus. Ethiopian food was enjoyable on and off trek.

Tom Richardson was an really excellent leader in all respects.
Omar, was a masterful fixer and negotiator. He was knowledgeable on Ethiopian history, society, religion etc though he sometimes struggled to express it all with his English. He is learning fast though.
Haile, Simien National Park guide, was excellent. Good knowledge of flora and fauna and very observant so we saw as much as possible. Very good English and easily understood. We particularly appreciated the impropmtu entertainment he and the trek crew provided for us on the penultimate trek night.

We have been on a trek with Serena before, and it was partly because she was the leader on this trek that we booked it. She is an excellent leader - attending to detail, ensuring that everyone's needs are met. She is very client focussed. She is thorough, pays attention to detail and provides a lot of information, ensuring that everyone knows what is going on , where they need to be when etc. She sensitively assisted Kura (the local guide) and worked with him very well, so that there skills and experience complimented each other for the benefit of the group, and that Kura also had the opportunity to pick up a few tips about how he could improve upon the service he offered. That said, Kura was great, with a wealth of information about his country and always helpful, enthusiatic and approachable.

The local guide was exceptional . The trip really seemed to go without a hitch , and was very well organised. The food on the trek was far better than I had dared hope for!

Karl was an excellent leader. However, the local guide Dawoud Sulayman was so incredibly knowledgeable, caring and patient that the whole trip ran amazingly smoothly. We mostly travel independently but will certainly do a KE trip again for a more adventurous destination.

The trip was fantastic. Dawoud our local Ethiopian leader was fantastic in organising the Ethiopian crew.
They were so helpful and always smiling.It was never too much to ask for them, always ready to help.
The accommodation was superb.The only minor point is that we did not have hot water one day from the hotel in Gondar but this was rectified in the other day we stayed there.
