Book Trip
The Annapurna Circuit The Annapurna Circuit

  • Trek across the Thorung La
  • Views of the Annapurnas and Dhaulagiri
  • Buddhist and Hindu cultures
  • One of the classic Nepal treks
  • Experience the amazing Annapurna Circuit trek

The Annapurna circuit trek includes the chance to experience the best of Nepal's landscapes, from the hot and humid farmland around Pokhara, to the high alpine environment and spectacular mountain scenery of the valley above Manang. The route is an undoubted classic, following the valley of the Marsyangdi River to reach the north side of the Annapurnas, before crossing the Thorung La and then cutting back through the Himalayas by way of the Kali Gandaki Valley. With acommodation of a suitable standard now available, this itinerary works superbly as a lodge trek.

Trip Guide

The classic Annapurna Circuit Lodge trek is sustained but offers relatively straightforward trekking conditions throughout, following excellent trails which are well-served with tea-houses and lodges. As the new road to Manang is prepared, some diversions from the old established trail may be required to avoid the work, particularly if blasting is happening. This may necessitate the occasional steep climb followed by a high level traverse and subsequent descent. The trek has been given the DEMANDING trekking grade on account of the overall length of the trip and the fact that there are a number of quite long days. The crossing of the Thorung La will present a significant challenge to the regular hill-walker. It should be noted that trekking at altitudes above 3000m. / 10,000ft. makes greater demands on the body than walking at low elevations, and is of itself challenging even for fit hikers. Our itinerary is well staged to allow the best possible acclimatisation but you will need to ensure you are physically prepared for the trek. You should be comfortable with walking for 5 to 7 hours each day and for several days continuously.
