Summits of the Canadian Rockies

Book Trip
Canada Rockie Mountains trekking Rockies trekking

  • High peaks and trails of Alberta and British Columbia
  • Trek to the top of several impressive Canadian Peaks
  • Panoramic views from Mount Fairview
  • Chill out at picturesque Lake Louise
  • The very best of trekking in Canada

Forming a natural boundary between the states of Alberta and British Columbia, the snow-capped crest of the Rocky Mountains rises to over 3500 metres. Unspoiled and extraordinarily scenic, this rugged mountain range provides the setting for this North American adventure trekking holiday. To make the most of this dramatic landscape we aim to spend as much time as possible on the high trails and each of our day-hikes will take us to a high ridge, pass or summit. En route, we will encounter forested valleys, flower-filled alpine meadows and pretty glacial lakes. From comfortable campground bases at Waterton, Banff and Lake Louise, our challenging itinerary includes the chance to trek to the summit of several big and impressive mountains, including Mount Allan (2820m), Mount Fairview (2744m) and Cirque Peak (2993m). This action-packed 2 week trip, which includes some easy scrambling, presents the very best of trekking in the Canadian Rockies.

Trip Guide

This is a relatively ambitious trekking holiday which, after an initial day of driving and sightseeing, involves a significant day-hike on each of the next 11 days. It is aimed at experienced hikers with a good level of fitness. All of the hiking is on well-established trails, although there are some exposed sections of trail and some straightforward scrambling on several of the days. Altitudes attained are modest and should not have too much effect on hiking performance. On a trip of this type, it is if course, possible for group members to opt out of some of the day-hikes. If poor weather conditions occur, we can adjust the programme of walks. The options and variety of this stunning region are one of the main attractions. During the holiday group members are invited to participate in camp chores including cooking of meals, though this is not obligatory.
