Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel in Calgary. KE group package services begin with the evening meal and the chance to meet your guide. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: We drive eastwards across the plains, to the valley of the Red Deer River. Arriving at the town of Drumheller, we visit the excellent Museum of Palaeontology. We camp at Drumheller.
Day 3: Drive to the start of the canoeing trip. A morning of canoe training with the river guides prepares us for the afternoon on the water exploring the Red Deer River. Camp on the riverbank.
Day 4: A full day of fun canoeing on the Red Deer River, with an evening camp on the river's edge.
Day 5: Continuing on the Red Deer River we reach Dinosaur Provincial Park, a World Heritage site. Here we have an evening tour through the badlands with stops to see dinosaur fossil sites.
Day 6: A relaxing day of sightseeing, as we drive to the Waterton Lakes National Park, stopping off in Vulcan, which has a unique Star Trek spaceship as its information Centre! Camp in Waterton.
Day 7: A fun morning hike at Waterton. The afternoon is free to explore the town. Bike hire or a boat cruise on the lake are optional extras if you want an activity-filled day. A second night in Waterton.
Day 8: Today we drive to Kananaskis Country for an afternoon walk at the picturesque Ptarmigan Cirque, before heading to the campgroup at Kananaskis Lakes.
Day 9: Today we saddle up for a horseback ride at the Boundary Ranch followed by a steak barbeque. We return to the campground at Kananaski Lakes.
Day 10: Today we head north to Banff, stopping on the way for a hike into Grotto Canyon. Then, a free afternoon in Banff, with a trip on the cable car or bike rental included. Camp at Johnston Canyon.
Day 11: Today, we hike above Lake Louise to the famous Lake Agnes Tea House. Then, we drive to Moraine Lake, before returning to camp in Johnston Canyon. Evening walk above our camp.
Day 12: We drive north on the Icefields Parkway and have a sightseeing tour at the Columbia Icefield, including a walk to Wilcox Pass. We return to camp at Johnston Canyon.
Day 13: Free time in Banff for sightseeing or for a walk to the top of Tunnel Mountain. Afternoon drive back to Calgary. Optional ride to the top of Calgary Tower or visit to Prince's Island Park. Hotel.
Day 14: KE group package services end with breakfast.
