Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Rendezvous at Tirana airport and transfer to Shkodra, Northern Albania's oldest and biggest city. After checking into our hotel we visit Rozafa Castlle to enjoy the views. Dinner at a waterfront restaurant.
Day 2: After breakfast we drive tvia the Boga Valley to remote and beautiful Thethi National Park. En route we stop off for our first walk to the "Pass of the Muttons" 1830m for views of the Radohima Peaks, the "Accursed Mountains". Overnight in a simple guesthouse.
Day 3: We load our bags on to mules and leave Thethi Village, stopping to look at the traditional wooden houses. After a picnic near Grunasi Canyon, we walk on to Nderlysa where we have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 4: We take a day hike up through the lovely Kaprea Valley. After a picnic by the waterfalls, we walk back to Nderlysa for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Today we leave Thethi and climb up to the Pass of Valbona (1960m), our luggage following on mules. This is the only direct way in to the Valbona Valley and from the top of the pass we enjoy views of Jezerca, the highest peak in the Albanian Alps. We stay overnight in the village of Rrogram after a long day of walking.
Day 6: An easier day as we walk to Dunisha, a picturesque hamlet in the middle of fruit trees and corn fields. We will walk on the dry river bed of the Valbona, and will have time in the afternoon to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Overnight in a village guesthouse.
Day 7: Today we start walking towards the village of Kukaj (900m), and from there we follow a shepherd's path up to pastureland at 1600m from where we enjoy the gorgeous views of Jezerca and Rrethi i Bardhe, 'The White Circle'. Return to Dunishe.
Day 8: We drive from Dunishe to the dock where we will take the ferry through the spectacular canyon of the River Drin. We take lunch on board. After docking at Koman, we will drive to Kruja, an important historic town and have dinner in a restaurant and stay overnight in a hotel.
Day 9: After some free time to explore Kruja in the early morning (there are some interesting museums) we drive back to Tirana Airport where KE group package services end.
