- The American south-west at its rugged best
- Trekking in the Grand Teton and Yellowstone parks
- Camp with the Navajo in Monument Valley
- Amazing Grand Canyon scenery
This excellent new hiking holiday in the Rocky Mountains starts out with an exploration amongst the diverse landscapes and amazing wildlife of the Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks. Our hikes here take us to wilderness lakes and to world-famous geysers, including 'Old Faithful'. We then travel south to Colorado and visit less well-known areas of the Rocky Mountains, close to the ski towns of Steamboat and Aspen, where we hike the Fish Creek Falls and Lost Man Loop trails. Continuing our journey via the Million Dollar Highway to Durango, we visit the ancient Indian ruins of Mesa Verde and also camp out with the Navajo to enjoy a stunning Monument Valley sunset. Finally, we round off this incredible adventure with walks in and around the Grand Canyon, trekking along the West Rim and descending to Havasupai Falls, to spend 2 nights camping in the depths of this awe-inspiring gorge. For a taste of the American south-west, this holiday is hard to beat.
