Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel in Antigua. A Single timed airport transfer from Guatemala City Airport is provided in the evening. KE group package services begin with the overnight accommodation.

Day 2: Bike out to the village of Santa Maria de Jesus. Singletrack biking on the slopes of Volcan Agua and return to Antigua. The afternoon is free for relaxing ao sightseeing. In the evening we take dinner in one of Antiguas great restaurants. Overnight at the group hotel. Approx. 30 km / 19 miles biking and 600 metres (1970 feet) of ascent/descent.

Day 3: Biking from Antigua we make a loop of the Antigua highlands riding a mix of cofee planters trails and technical singletrack. We overnight the 'Earth Lodge', nestled high in the hills with astonishing views of the Antigua Valley.

Day 4: On our second day on the Antigua circuit we ride a mix of trail, farm tracks and some singletack as we cross the valley to the North West. Gaining a plateau we follow trail and dirt road through the Spanish ruins of Pueblo Viejo and the town of San Andreas to reach Parramos where we stay overnight at an equestrian farm and mountain bike centre.

Day 5: Today we have an epic cross country ride following and old Spanish conquistador corridor that connected the Antigua valleys and the simply stunning Lake Atitlan. Its a long ride with several climbs to reach the caldera's edge overlooking the lake, but we finish with one of Guatemala's finest singeltrack descents, some 2000 feet to the lake shore. We overnight in the lively town of Panajachel.

Day 6: We start with a short transfer to enjoy some challenging slickrock ridge riding and an exciting descent down to the lake shore. We transfer by boat to the cliffside hotel of Casa del Mundo.

Day 7: A free morning at the Casa del Mundo for swimming or kayaking or just relaxing. In the afternoon we drive (4 hours) to the Cuchumatanes mountains and overnight in a hotel in Huehuetenango.

Day 8: From Huehuetenango we have around 1000m/3280ft of ascent to a high plateau. A long, fast descent follows down to our lodge in Todos Santos.

Day 9: A great XC ride today as we head up to a plateau and continue on cattle trails to the remote Uniconio Azul horse ranch and overnight at the Blue Unicorn Lodge.

Day 10: A long ride across country today to reach the Ixil triangle and stay in a rustic, family run lodge at Acul.

Day 11: We begin with a steady climb out of the valley. Reaching the crescent of the ridge we now have a fantastic downhill to our lunch stop. Suitably rested, there are two more big climbs before a mix of local trails and jeep tracks brings us to our overnight accommodation in Uspantan.

Day 12: A challenging day as we climb up into the hills above the Chixoy Valley followed by a monster descent to the river. We have a final 10km climb on a dirt road to reach the highway where we meet our support vehicles and transfer to Coban. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 13: We end our Guatemalan epic with a 70km ride on a mix of road and jeep track to reach the blue waters of Semuc Champey. We spend the afternoon at this beautiful spot before riding to our overnight stay in a hotel in Languin.

Day 14: We have a highly scenic drive back to Antigua. We check into our comfortable hotel and have time for last minute shopping before going out to celebrate the successful completion of a unique trip in one of Antigua's many great restaurants.

Day 15: KE group package services end after breakfast with a single timed group transfer to Guatemala City Airport.
