Selection of dry bags (to keep trek bag contents dry)
Small padlock (to lock your KE kit bag)
Cigarette lighter (to burn toilet paper)
Basic First Aid Kit including: a broad spectrum antibiotic, antiseptic cream, diarrhoea treatment (Imodium), painkillers, plasters/blister treatment, glucose tablets and re-hydration salts (Dioralite).
The following items are optional:
Trainers / sneakers or sandals
Thermarest (a thin foam mattress is provided)

Whilst day-time temperatures vary between 20 and 30 degrees centigrade, night-time temperatures can fall below freezing in the desert. We therefore recommend bringing a 3-4 season sleeping bag and a warmer jacket such as a down-filled jacket.
Please note that binoculars are not allowed in Algeria. If found they will be confiscated at customs.
