Some of the best regarded attractions of Brazil are the magnificent Iguazu falls, the splendid wildlife in the Pantanal and the bustling sights, including Christ the Redeemer, in Rio de Janiero, all of these are including in our "Best of" holiday to Brazil. We have 3 nights at Iguazu falls enabling us to really explore and see the falls from every angle. We visit both the Brazilian and Argentinean sides, have a short bike ride, visit The Devils Throat. Our boat tour will allow us to get so close we will feel the splash of the waters on our faces! The Pantanal is the largest continuous wetland in the world, and is a sight to behold (even if you are a mountain lover!). Its floodplains spread over Brazil, Paraguay, Bolivia and Argentina. We spend time in the southern Brazilian Pantanal. We have an array of activities to choose from here, including horse-riding, Piranha fishing, walking tours, boat tours, and wildlife safaris (even by night). The wildlife is breath taking in its diversity with hundreds of different fish guaranteeing a rich bird population, there is also a huge variety of reptiles and mammals such as: caiman, capybara, monkey, armadillo, coatis, giant anteater and, of course, the elusive jaguar. Heading back to the bustle of civilisation we have 3 nights in the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro. A full day tour takes us over Sugar Loaf Mountain and then of course up to the statue of Christ the Redeemer in Corcovado. We also have a favela tour and plenty of time to get the feel of this lively exotic town, surrounded by beaches. This is a holiday of a lifetime to experience the very best of beautiful Brazil.
Is this holiday for you?
This is a discovery, touring holiday in Brazil. The activities which are included are all suitable for beginners. This includes the piranha fishing and horse-riding in the Pantanal. The walking is all on good paths and are touring walks rather than proper hikes. The walk in the favela in Rio is steep. Though the horse riding is suitable for beginners, you must have some experience of having ridden a horse. All accommodation is of a good standard and many of the hotels have swimming pools. When in the Pantanal the transfer to the accommodation is approx 3-4hrs along dirt roads. The internal flights to the Pantanal may require flight changes. Whilst in Rio we do have the option of walking part of the way up to Sugar Loaf mountain, the way is steep in parts but the walk takes only 40mins-1hr, alternatively we can take the cable car the whole way. The holiday is designed as touring but including as many activities as we can.
