Before I went, I received very good emails about all my concerns and questions.
The hotels and food were excellent. The farmhouse stay was very good. Home grown food and hot showers every night. The guides chose excellent restaurants. Would liked to have hiked more days. The route is excellent. Albania and Montenegro are very interesting.
Our guides Milan and Samir were excellent. The weather was rainy with thunder and lightning most days but we hiked most of the route. They were very aware of the safety factor. Very good english, knowledge of their country and fun. Highly recommend them on any trip in the Balkans. The guides were beyond excellent.
This is my first KE trip and I plan many more. Everything was like clockwork and the hotels and food were beyond what I expected. First rate. Guides were also beyond first rate. Very organized and fun. I chose KE because I wanted to see an area that is remote and new. Also staying in hotels and farmhouses are more appealing to me than huts with dorms. Having the trip limited to 12 was a good factor for me.

I was very impressed with the holiday overall. The route was very interesting and varied, not too tiring or too easy. I most enjoyed the interesting mountain scenery and the good food.
The staff in the KE office were also very helpful and informative pre trip.

It was interesting to see that there is still some wild, unspoiled and remote area in Europe. We rarely saw any other hikers on the trail. I also enjoyed the cultural and sightseeing aspect of the trip.
Taking a boat ride on Lake Skadar was wonderful, as well as visiting the UNESCO sites. It made the trip not just about walking but about the beauty of the Balkans.

This trip contained the perfect mixture of walking, relaxing and some sightseeing. The staff were very experienced, friendly and helpful, especially the guides from Montenegro and Albania.

Both leaders were friendly and eager to share information about the area. They were very good at organising alternatives when the weather was too bad for us to do the planned walk on one day. My most enjoyed aspects were walking down into Kotor Old Town, the hospitality of a shepherd family while we were walking in Albania and the lovely meal in the guesthouse in Liquenat.
