The following checklist should help you with your packing. As a general rule, you should always try to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum.
The packed weight of your main KE bag (not including your camera gear and the items in your daypack) should be no more than 20kgs.
You must bring the following items:
Lightweight walking boots or strong shoes
Casual shoes for evening wear at the hotels
Socks
Casual trousers
Smart trousers (for evenings)
Underwear
Baselayer shirts
Casual shirt and/or T-shirts
Smart shirts (for evenings)
Fleece jacket or warm jumper/sweater
Waterproof jacket
Sunhat
Sun protection (including total bloc for lips, nose etc.)
Warm hat
Eyewear Sunglasses
Daypack or camera-specific pack
Headtorch / headlamp
Water bottle 1 Litre (1 Quart)
Small padlock (to lock your KE trek bag)
Washbag and toiletries
Antibacterial handwash
Small towel
Basic First Aid Kit including the following : Insect repellent (DEET); antiseptic cream; throat lozenges; diarrhoea treatment (Diocalm or Immodium); painkillers; plasters/band-aids and blister treatment; and re-hydration salts (Dioralite). Glucose sweets and vitamin tablets are a useful addition.
