Trekking the Ridges and Summits of Bulgaria

Holiday Itinerary
Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel in Samokov. A single timed group transfer is provided from Sofia Airport to the group hotel. KE Land Only package services begin with the evening meal.
Day 2: Short drive to Borovets ski resort. Take gondola lift and make an ascent of Bulgaria's highest peak, Mount Mussala (2971m). Return to pension in Samokov.
Day 3: Early morning transfer to Vada Trek via the '7 Rila Lakes' to the summit of Razdela (2600m). Descend to Rila monastery. Short transfer to pension.
Day 4: Short transfer and then trek up to the Ribni Lake Hut at 2230m. Follow the main ridge of the Rila Mountains via the Karnarski Pass with glorious views of the Rhodopi and Pirin Mountains to the south. Descend to our accommodation in the village of Dobrinishte.
Day 5: Transfer to the Doze Delchev Hut, then take a chair lift up to the Bezbog Hut. From here we walk through alpine-style scenery to reach the mountain hut at Tevno Ezero (2512m).
Day 6: We traverse the valley and enjoy walking along the fantastic Pirin ridges, surrounded by summits, lakes and valleys before descending to the Vihren Hut and then taking a transfer back to our hotel in Dobrinshte.
Day 7: The climax of the trip - a full day walk to the imposing Pirin summits of Mount Vihren (2914m.) and Kotelo (2908m) via the Marble Ridge. Return to the group hotel in Dobrinshte.
Day 8: KE Land Only package services end after breakfast with a single timed group transfer from Dobrinishte to Sofia Airport.
Altitude
This holiday involves going to moderately high altitude. During the course of your trip you will reach altitudes in excess of 2500 metres. Most people will have no difficulty with this level of altitude but before coming on the holiday, we recommend you read the advice on trekking at altitude.
