Holiday Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Havana and transfer to the group hotel. KE Land Only package services begin with overnight at the group hotel.
Day 2: After breakfast at the hotel we have sightseeing tour of the city. Travelling in a classic American car we will visit the historical centre of the city and Rum Museum at the Havana Club. The afternoon is free to explore the squares and streets of the centre on foot, or we can have an optional salsa dance lesson. Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight at the group hotel.
Day 3: We drive to the western part of the island, to the province of Pinar del Rio. Here we visit a tobacco factory before continuing to Vinales which is well known for its weird landscape of conical hills called mogotes. Here we make a visit to the Cueva del Indio before checking into our hotel.
Day 4: Today we visit the small fishing village of Puerto Esperanza where we gain an insight into a rural community untouched by tourism. We have a walk in the environs which will take us to the village for lunch. After the walk we return to our hotel in Vinales.
Day 5: Leaving Vinales we drive next towards Sierra del Escambray. En route we stop at Santa Clara to visit the mausoleum of Che Guevara and the "Tren Blindado". We stop again for lunch and arriving at Lago Hanabanilla in the Escambray Sierra, we check into our hotel.
Day 6: After breakfast we make a short walking circuit from our hotel and then board a boat for a cruise on the lake stopping at Rio Negro for lunch. In the late afternoon we drive approximately 32 km up into the mountains to our next hotel located at 800 metres in the heart of Topes de Collantes.
Day 7: We have an exciting vehicle safari travelling through the lush forests of La Cuerva de Juana to El Parque Cubano. We take some time also to explore on foot before checking in to our hotel.
Day 8: In the morning we transfer to the pier of Playa Ancon near Trinidad where we board the boat to Cayo Iguana and Cayo Macho Afuera. A picnic lunch will be served on the boat and arriving in these perfect paradise islands we have enough time for snorkelling and swimming before returning to Plata Ancon where we check into our hotel.
Day 9: This morning we visit Trinidad and have a city tour of its cobbled streets and beautifully restored buildings which have earned it the status of a UNESCO World Heritage site. We have lunch in Trinidad and in the afternoon we transfer back to Havana. After checking in to our hotel and relaxing we have a farewell dinner.
Day 10: KE Land Only package service end after breakfast. Depending on your flight schedule, there will be time for shopping before departure. A complimentary airport transfer is provided.
