Morocco - Bougmez Valley Walking Week
The following checklist should help you with your packing. As a general rule, you should always try to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum.
You must bring the following items:
Comfortable shoes or boots for hiking
Socks
Trainers / sneakers or sandals
Trekking trousers / pants
Lightweight waterproof over-trousers / rain-pants
Underwear
Shirts (2 short sleeve, 2 long sleeve)
Fleece jacket or warm jumper (for evenings outside)
Lightweight windproof/waterproof jacket
Sunhat
Warm hat
Eyewear - Sunglasses
Lightweight gloves
Daypack c.20 litres
Water bottles 1 Litre / 2 pint
Headtorch / headlamp with spare batteries
Washbag and toiletries
Antibacterial handwash
Sun protection (including total bloc for lips, nose etc.)
Small padlock (to lock your KE kit bag)
Basic First Aid Kit including: Antiseptic cream, throat lozenges, diarrhoea treatment (Imodium), painkillers, plasters (band aids) and blister treatment, Insect repellent (DEET), and re-hydration salts (Dioralite).
The following items are optional:
Shorts
Trekking poles (recommended)
Camera, film, batteries
Travel clothes
Books / kindle
Pocket-knife (note: always pack sharp objects in hold baggage)
Repair kit (eg. needle, thread, duct tape)
