For those arriving late in the evening, there will be ample time the next morning to collect your hire bike.
Day 2: After a hearty breakfast and preparing our bikes, we cycle from the hotel to tackle one of Catalonia's legendary climbs, The Rocacorba (970m). Warming up gently on rolling roads, we reach the foot of the climb at Banyoles town. Taping out a steady rhythm as we climb, we're rewarded with far reaching view of the Pyrenees before beginning our descent. Ride distance: 65 km (40 miles), 985m ascent
Day 3: Departing Girona, we conquer another classic pass, El Angels (482m) and descend to enjoy two more climbs before reaching an iconic stretch of coastline, previously used in a Tour de France stage. Finishing at coastal town of Calella de Palafurgell we may even have time for a quick dip! Ride distance 107 km (66 miles) with 926 metres of ascent.
Day 4: Today, we have an easier ride across the Emporda plains following the Gulf of Roses before heading into the Cap Creus National Park as we enjoy a breathtaking climb up to St Pere de Rodes(505m), a favourite viewpoint of Salvador Dali! A thrilling descent leads us to our hotel in El Port de la Selva. Ride distance 78.5 km (49 miles) with 690 metres of ascent.
Day 5: Cycling up the Catalonian coast we cross into France, breaking at the delightful fishing port of Colioure. Turning inland to Spain, via the iconic Col de Banyuls (361m) we end the day at Salvador Dali's birthplace - Figueres, where there is the opportunity to visit his fantastic Theatrical-Museum (time permitting). Ride distance 96 km (60 miles) with 946 metres of ascent
Day 6: Today is our epic classic border traverse across the Eastern Pyrenees! Cycling into France we head up the Col des Horts (770m), riding through the Tech Valley before returning to Spain by way of the Col d'Ares (1513m). A unforgettable day of classic European riding! Ride distance 103km (64 miles) with 2270 metres of ascent.
Day 7: Rounding this wonderful week of riding off, we take in the final pass of Col de Capsacosta (870m) before enjoying a predominately downhill day as we descend through the lush volcanic region of Garrotxa.
