Beginning this tour of Cambodia, we acquaint ourselves with the ancient Khmer empire by way of an extensive exploration of the Angkor Wat Complex. The following day, we take a leisurely bike ride to the dock of Tonle Sap Lake and navigate our way to the floating fisherman's village of Kompong Phluk and gain a fascinating insight into this unique way of life. Departing Siem Reap for a more modern-era of Cambodian history, we arrive into the charming French-colonial town of Battambang and enjoy the laid-back pace of life before departing for Phnom Penh where we visit the infamous Killing Fields of Choeung Ek. With a rural traditional home stay from our Cambodian hosts, we round this trip off with the beaches of Koh Rong Island. The perfect conclusion to this Cambodian discovery holiday!
