Day 1: KE Services begin with a single-timed complementary transfer from the airport to the group hotel. In the afternoon, depending on your arrival time, we begin our exploration of the Angkor Wat complex, with sunset atop of Bakheng Mount
Day 2: Consumed by the jungle, the archaeological paradise of Ta Prohm gives a real flavour of rediscovery, as the French explorers would have experienced in the 1870's. Our guided exploration the Angkor complex, continues with The Elephant Terrace, Terrace of the Leper King and Banyon, finishing in the afternoon at the medicinal healing pools of Neak Pean.
Day 3: After breakfast we take a leisurely bike through rural back-roads to the great lake of Tonle Sap. Taking a short boat ride to the Khmer fisherman's village of Kompong Phluk we navigate our way through the stilted houses and gain a fascinating insight into the community and eco-system of this unique floating way of life.
Day 4: Taking to the waters again, we leave Siem Reap and take the slow boat to Battambang. Absorbing Cambodian village life from the water we finish our journey with a short road transfer to Battambang and transfer to our hotel.
Day 5: Unlike any other city in Cambodia, Battambang's charm is its fusion of a modern city set against hilltop temples and well-preserved colonial buildings. Taking a tour of the major historic sites, we also discover a more contemporary side to Cambodian life.
Day 6: Boarding our private transport we spend the morning driving to the fascinating, if not somewhat chaotic city of Phnom Penh! In the afternoon we take a very sobering trip out of the city to the infamous Choeng Ek 'Killing Fields.
Day 7: There is no better way to beat the traffic than by bicycle, which is why we take cyclo-rickshaw through the city. Visiting the National Museum, the grandeur of Wat Phnom and with time to seek out bargains at the Russian market, we welcome a relaxing evening in one of the many cosmopolitan bars, this vibrant city has to offer.
Day 8: From Battambang we continue south, driving for approximately 4 hours to Phnom Penh. After checking in to the hotel and some free time for lunch we will make a trip out of town approximately 16km to the infamous Choeng Ek 'killing fields'. On the return we stop to visit a former high school which has been converted to the Tuol Sleng Museum giving the history of the Kymer Rouge period.
Day 9: Bidding farewell to our host families, we drive down to the emerging beach resort of Sihanoukville. Carved out of the jungle some 50 years ago, to create Cambodia's first port, Sihanoukville boasts to be one of Cambodia's most happening of places!
Day 10: Taking a boat journey across to the idyllic island of Koh Rong, we check into our beach bungalows for the next three nights in preparation for rest, relaxation and exploration.
Day 11: Easy to explore on foot we take a day walk, into Koh Rong's interior we make tracks through the jungle life of this island. Interspersed with swimming opportunities and time to enjoy laid back Cambodian beach life, we end the day with a short boat journey back to our accommodation.
Day 12: Unwinding to the pace of beach life, this is a free day for you to explore the island some more, or simply stroll as far as the beach and chill out.
Day 13: With a combination of boat and road travel, we return to Phnom Penh via Sihanoukville for our final night of Camdodian cuisine and culture.
Day 14: With an early evening flight out of Phnom Penh Airport there is time to enjoy some last minute shopping or absorb the daily buzz of this vibrant city. KE Land Only Package services end with a transfer to the airport early afternoon.
