Day 1: Rendezvous at Bastia Airport and meet our guide and support vehicle. We assemble our bikes, cycle for 20 kilometres along the sea front to Bastia town and then a further 30 kilometres along the eastern side of Cap Corse to the Corsica's most northerly town, Macinaggio. Distance 55km/34miles, Ascent/Descent 500m.
Day 2: We bike to the most northerly point of the island, before turning south along Corsica's spectacular west coast, through the town of St.Florent to our overnight in L'Ile-Rousse. En-route we cross several cols including the Punta di Stintinu, Punta di Cannelle, Punta Vecchiaia and the Bocca di Petajoule. Distance 120km/74miles Ascent/Descent 2100m.
Day 3: We head inland through several rustic villages for a taste of the Corsican mountain way of life. Descending to Calvi, we continue south across the Capo Cavallo and the Col de Palmarelia into the stunning Gulf of Porto, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The pinnacles of the famous red granite Calanques soar out of a beautiful blue sea. Overnight in Piana. 135km/84miles, Ascent 2050m, Descent 1600m.
Day 4: Descending to Porto, we climb for 30 kilometres through pine forest and rocky gorges to the Col de Vergio (1478m), the highest road pass in Corsica. A long and gentle descent through the pine forest of the Valdit Niellu then leads to the busy market town of Corte. We continue southwards for 20 kilometres to our overnight in Vivari. 125km/78miles, Ascent 2200m, Descent 1700m.
Day 5: Today we bike through the pine forests of the Corsica National Park, crossing the Col de Sorba and the Col de Vizzavona (2013 Tour de France climbs). We continue to wind our way south through the mountains, across the Col de la Vaccia and through the sleepy villages of Serra-di-Scopamene, Sorbollano and Quenza to reach our overnight at Zonza. Distance 105km/65miles, Ascent 2000m, Descent 1800m.
Day 6: We climb to the Col de Bavella (1213m), below the stunning craggy dominance of Monte Incudine and descend for 30 kilometres to the east coast and the grape growing region of Solenza. Turning north, we follow the D16 to Aleria where we head inland to Piedicroce in the chestnut forests of Castagniccia, one of the least spoilt regions of Corsica. Distance 130km/80miles, Ascent 1050m, Descent 1150m.
Day 7: From Peidicroce we descend a little before starting the last climb of the tour, to the Col de Sant Agostino (685m). Looking out over the ocean, all that is left to do is to enjoy the descent to the coast, the ride into Bastia. We have time to pack up our bikes and enjoy a late afternoon stroll around the town, before a celebratory dinner. Distance 55km/34miles, Ascent 300m, Descent 800m.
Day 8: After breakfast we have a group transfer to Bastia Airport where KE Land Only package services end.
