Corsica Haute Route - Trek the Whole GR20

Day 1: Morning rendezvous at Bastia Airport. KE Land Only package services begin with a group transfer by minibus to Calvi (approx 2 hrs). Overnight hotel Calvi.
Day 2: We transfer to Calenzana, the start of the GR20. We ascend through the chestnut trees into the Mediterranean maquis shrublands. Over an airy col we continue to our first overnight at the Ortu di u Pobbio refuge where we camp or stay in the refuge. 6 to 7 hrs walking.
Day 3: This morning we ascend into the rocky cirque of Bonifatu and we contour around before leaving this memorable alpine section and descending down to the Carrozzu Refuge where we camp or stay in the refuge. 8hrs walking.
Day 4: Another strenuous day as we ascend further up to Lake Muvrella and then onto the ridge with splendid views of the coast and the peaks of the Cirque de Solitude. Descend to Haut Asco where we stay in a hotel. 6hrs walking. Access to main baggage.
Day 5: An exciting mountain day as ascend and then traverse the Cirque de Solitude, one of the iconic and most beautiful days of the GR20. We descend down to Bergie de Vallone. Camp. 9 hrs walking.
Day 6: A leisurely start as we contours through the pine woods. It's then a steep pull up to the refuge at Ciottolu, the highest refuge on the trail with some great views. We then descend via a ridge to our hotel at Castel di Vergio. 5 to 6 hrs walking. Access to main baggage.
Day 7: A lovely day with a level start before climbing through beech woods to the high alpine grassy meadows around the picturesque Lac de Nino. The lush green turf in this area is a welcome sight after all the granite rock of the past few days! Continue to the refuge at Manganu where we camp or stay in the refuge. 6 to 7 hrs walking.
Day 8: From the refuge we ascend to the breche de Capitellu (2225m) for a splendid walk with great views of lakes Melo and Rinoso below we cross the Col de la Haute Route and continue to the refuge under Monte Renoso, where we can rest and refill our water bottles. continuing down the Manganello Valley to the Tolla bridge before ascending to the L'Onda cabin . Camp at the refuge. 9-10 hrs walking.
Day 9: Today will be a shorter day allowing us some valuble rest time in the afternoon. From L'Onda we pull up on to the ridge for some spectaclar panoramic views. We follow the ridge to the Muratell Pass where we cross over and descend into the neighbouring l'Agnone glacier valley. We continue on to Vizzavona where we overnight in the Monte d'Oro Gite. Approx 6 hrs walking. Access to main baggage.
Day 10: Our longest day at 28km, but relatively straightforward. Over the pass Bocca Palmente with views of the coast and sea we have a long but relatively level section past shepherds cabins around Monte Renoso to our overnight stop in gite at Col de Verde. 9 to 10hrs walking. Access to main baggage.
Day 11: We ascend through a forest trail onto a high ridge. We follow this ridge which skirts around a few summits and then we cross two cols before we drop down to the village of Cozzano. Overnight gite. Approx 7 hrs walking. Access to main baggage.
Day 12: This morning we start ascending through the trees and onto the famous maquis (shrubland). We gain the ridge and follow the GR20 through dwarf beech trees to the highest plateau on the GR20 - the Bocca de I'Agnone. Overnight Crocce camping or gite. Approx 8hrs walking. Access to main baggage.
Day 13: We walk along a ridge in the shadow of Monte Incudine's summit, before descending past Asinau to the valley. Then we continue up to the alping path over the granite pinnacles of Bavella. Overnight gite Bavella. Approx 8-9hrs walking. Access to main baggage.
Day 14: Our final day we stay goodbye to the granite spires and pine tree forests as we arriving in the village of Conca for a well-earned drink! Transfer to Bastia (3hr). Overnight hotel Bastia. Approx 8 hrs walking.
Day 15: KE Land Only package service end after breakfast
