Our new gentle biking journey in South Africa is designed to fit into a one-week holiday encompassing the best of Cape Town, Table Mountain, Stellenbosch and the Cape Peninsula. Each day is a mixture of easy biking, sightseeing and relaxing in the beautiful landscapes of the southern tip of Africa. From Cape Town, we head east and take our first ride up to the Hellshoogte Pass, before tasting some of the wine for which Stellenbosch is so famous. Leaving the wine region, we cross the Franschoek Pass (1000m) and continue to ride through the Hottentots-Holland Nature Reserve and down to Hermanus. We continue along the coastline as far as Simons Town, with the Cape Fold Mountains to the west and the vast ocean to the east. A short transfer takes us to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet, before we return on our bikes via an enjoyable downhill. Our week of biking comes to an end with a long day of riding along the Chapman's Peak Drive, with it's famous views down to Hout Bay, and along into Camps Bay for a deserved drink before a short transfer back to Cape Town for a celebratory meal. This easy trip is perfect for the occasional cyclist who wants to experience the wild beauty of South Africa's southernmost cape within a one-week holiday.
