Explore the best of the Pacific Northwest, the spectacular region at the western end of the USA - Canada border, where Washington meets British Columbia, on our varied and exciting hiking holiday. Using an experienced local guide, private transport and selected campgrounds with good facilities, allows us to make the best of the wilderness and wildlife of this beautiful and unique area, which is a part of the Pacific Ring of Fire. Starting out from vibrant Vancouver, we first head north to begin our trekking adventure with a series of day hikes in the stunning mountains around Squamish and Whistler, including an ascent of Stawamus Chief. Leaving Canada behind us, we cross the border into the USA, where we enjoy 3 full days exploring the reserve areas of the North Cascades, walking the Cascade Pass, Sauk Mountain and Hidden Lake Lookout trails where we should certainly be on the lookout for mountain goat, deer and even black bears! Heading down, we continue our walking holiday with further day-walks in the Mt Rainier National Park, the largest glacier area south of Alaska. Here, surrounded by high rocky peaks, we walk through forests of cedar on the Summerlands Trail and through the fairytale like flower-decorated meadows of the Paradise Valley. Finally, we journey towards the Pacific coast and Port Angeles where we round of with 2 days exploring the mysterious, lichen coated, temperate rainforest and beautiful coastal trails of the Olympic National Park, a haven for marine wildlife including sea otters and sea lions. An overnight stay in the seaport city of Seattle brings our fantastic holiday to a close.
