Holiday Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Calgary. Rendezvous at the group hotel. Evening free. KE Land Only package services begin with the overnight stay at the group hotel.

Day 2: We meet our guide and have a trip briefing over breakfast at the hotel. We then have a short city tour before transferring to the trailhead in Canmore for our hike to Ha Ling Peak. Approximately 4 - 5 hours walking with 700 metres of ascent. After the hike we drive (2 hours) to Lake Louise, where we stay overnight at a hostel.

Day 3: Mont Saint-Pirain (2649m) or Fairview Mountain (2744m). Approximately 6 hours. 900 metres or 1000 metres of ascent depending on route choice. Overnight in Lake Louise hostel.

Day 4: Our second hike out of Lake Louise is to the Cirque Peak (2993m). We have a 1 hour transfer to the trailhead at Bow Lake and we make the ascent via Helen Lake. 6 hours / +1000m. Afterwards, return to our hostel in Lake Louise.

Day 5: Leaving Lake Louise today we drive to Revelstoke National Park. We hike via Marion Lake and the Abbot Ridge on Mount Abbot with the option to scramble to the summit (2465m), depending on weather and the group. 8 hours / 1265m. Our accommodation tonight is a hostel in downtown Revelstoke.

Day 6: We drive (1 hour) to the summit parkway and hike via Miller and Eva Lake to a col between Upper and Lower Jade Lake. We return the same trail and drive back to the hostel in Revelstoke. 6 - 7 hours. 800m.

Day 7: Our next destination is Glacier National Park. Parking at Rogers Pass we hike the Cannaught Valley to Balu Pass (2070m). From here we scramble along rocky ledges and walk through alpine meadows to the final rocky summit ridge of Cheops Mountain (2605m). We overnight in a lodge.

Day 8: We drive into the heart of Yoho National Park and to the trailhead at the foot of Takakkaw falls. We hike along the Yoho river to Laughing falls and climb to Stanley Mitchel hut. After lunch we follow the Iceline trail to Whiskey Jack. 725m ascent. Overnight in a local hostel.

Day 9: For our second hike in the Yoho National Park we hike for 4 - 6 hours to the summit of Paget Peak (2564m) and in the afternoon drive to Banff where we check in to the International Hostel.

Day 10: Today's hike takes us via Bourgeau Lake to Mount Bourgeau (2931m). This is a longish day of around 9 hours and with 1500 metres of ascent. After the hike we return to the hostel in Banff.

Day 11: A shorter day today, hiking in the Banff National Park to Cory Pass. 5 -6 hours. 915m. Overnight at the hostel in Banff.

Day 12: Our hike for today is up to the 'Middle Sister' (2769m). 7 - 8 hours. 1400m. We have our last evening in Banff staying at the hostel.

Day 13: The last hike in our Canadian Summits Scrambler is a traverse of the Centennial Ridge to Mont Allan (2820m), and descent into Bow Valley. 8 hours. 1400m, 8h. After the hike we drive (1 - 1.5 hours) to Calgary where we check into the group hotel and enjoy a 'farewell' dinner.

Day 14: KE Land Only package services end after breakfast.


This holiday involves going to moderately high altitude. During the course of your trip you will reach altitudes in excess of 2500 metres. Most people will have no difficulty with this level of altitude but before coming on the holiday, we recommend you read the advice on trekking at altitude.
