Chamonix to Zermatt Mountain Biking

Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel in Chamonix. A single group transfer from Geneva Airport is provided at 1630 hrs. You will meet your guide at the group accommodation, have a pre-ride briefing and have time to put your bikes together. KE Land Only package services begin with the evening meal.
Day 2: We bike through the Chamonix Valley to Le Tour and take the cable car to the Col de Balme. After a big descent to Trient in Switzerland, we climb again to the Col de la Forclaz and have another long descent to Martigny and an easier valley ride. A cable car takes up to the ski resort of Verbier. Ride distance: 40 km (25 miles) with 1000 metres of ascent and 1500 metres of descent.
Day 3: From Verbier, we follow the Grand Raid Cristalp route across the Croix de Coeur (2174m) descending on singletrack to Siviez. Two further climbs and descents take us to the picturesque Swiss village of Evolene. Ride distance: 65 km (41 miles) with 1900 metres of ascent and 2400 metres of descent.
Day 4: Today, we cross the 2 highest passes of our route, the Pas de Lona and the Basset de Lona (2792m). We then have a superb singletrack descent via the milky waters of Lac Moiry to the village of Grimentz. Ride distance: 45 km (28 miles) with 1900 metres of ascent and descent.
Day 5: We continue via the Illsee Pass (2544m) where we can see both Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn. We then make as superb descent and a scenically stunning traverse to a viewpoint high above Eischol. Another great descent leads to the village where we overnight. Ride distance: 55 km (34 miles) with 1400 metres of ascent and 2000 metres of descent.
Day 6: We contour along the side of the Rhone Valley and enter into the German speaking area of Switzerland. After a climb to Moose Pass (2048m) at the junction of the Zermatt and Saas Fee valleys, we descend into the Zermatt Valley on a singletrack to die for! Our hotel, for the next two nights is in St Nicholas. Ride distance: 40 km (25 miles) with 1100 metres of ascent and descent.
Day 7: This final day of riding will take us on road and tracks towards Zermatt. From the village, we use either the Gornergrat train or the Sunnegga funicular to gain some serious height. We then have an amazing descent to Zermatt and follow valley trails back to St Niklaus. Ride distance: 40 km (25 miles) with 700 metres of ascent and 1800 metres of descent.
Day 8: After breakfast at our accommodation, we make the 3 hour drive to Geneva Airport, aiming to arrive at 1200 hrs. Late afternoon flights are recommended. KE Land Only package services end on arrival at Geneva Airport.
