SUMMITS of the CANADIAN ROCKIESThe snow-capped crest of the Canadian Rocky Mountains rises to over 3500 metres/11480 feet, providing the perfect setting for a North American adventure holiday. To make the most of this unspoiled and extraordinarily scenic mountain landscape we aim to trek as much as possible on the high trails and each of our day-hikes will take us to a high ridge, a pass or a summit. En route, we will encounter forested valleys, flower-filled alpine meadows and pretty glacial lakes. From comfortable campground bases at Waterton, Banff and Lake Louise, our challenging itinerary includes the chance to trek to the summit of several big and impressive mountains, including Mount Allan (2820m / 9252ft), Mount Fairview (2744m / 9002ft) and Cirque Peak (2993m / 9819ft). This action-packed 2-week vacation, which includes some easy scrambling, presents the very best of the Canadian Rockies.

This is a relatively ambitious itinerary which, after an initial day of driving and sightseeing, involves a significant day-hike on each of the next 11 days. It is aimed at experienced hikers with a good level of fitness. All of the hiking is on well-established trails, although there are some exposed sections of trail and some straightforward scrambling on several of the days. Altitudes attained are modest and should not have too much effect on hiking performance. On a trip of this type, it is if course, possible for group members to opt out of some of the day-hikes. If poor weather conditions occur, we can adjust the programme of walks. You will need to carry your sleeping bag and extra food items on the day that we overnight at the Stanley Mitchell Hut. During the trip group members are invited to participate in camp chores including cooking of meals, though this is not obligatory.
